Reason: The ring-tailed cat and cacomistle look extremely similar, so I think a tag for their genus (bassariscus) would be quite useful, if we know a character is one of the two species but can't tell which.

We have other genus tags on e621, including felis, canis, and urocyon, so there is precedent.

Oops, yeah, didn't realize they can happen at the same time

There's also a breed of domestic_cat called the "American ringtail". Haven't seen them in furry art, but might be something to be aware of.

If it becomes an issue later on we can add a suffix but for now imo it's fine how it is, since there's no american ringtail cats on the site
