Topic: [REJECTED] Let's not dance around the bush

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #5449 has been rejected.

remove implication bikomation (472) -> conditional_dnp (120551)
create implication bikomation (472) -> avoid_posting (2312)

Reason: Let's cut straight into the chase. Bikomation is banned. Their cdnp was "only artist can post".
That'd make the life of janitors and uoploaders easier by changing that tag into the other tag.
Anyway I read somewhere here artists could still post content if they are avoid_posting, so if by miracle Biko comes back, there won't be any problem.

EDIT: The bulk update request #5449 (forum #375162) has been rejected by @Wolfmanfur.

This is probably something that should be brought up directly to NMNY, since he solely handles all of this.

I have always thought that "only the artist may post" is a ridiculous thing for conditional_dnp though, when the artist themselves is already exempt to avoid_posting. Conditional DNP should be reserved for actual conditions like "Only content from Twitter" or "commissioners only".

Technically, yes.
However, having an avoid_posting implication causes an increase in incorrect flags – people can't (easily) see the uploader's name but they see the avoid_posting tag, so they flag the post.
There's really no practical benefit to changing the implication over.

Only I'm allowed to post

I suppose that problem should dissipate in theory with the new checkmark feature that's applied beside artists are registered self posting

This would be nice as a way of handling all of the current "only the artist may post" CDNPs... but that kind of change isn't dependent on a high-profile artist being banned, that sort of change probably wouldn't be voted on as a BUR, and limiting it to Biko alone seems silly.

The benefit would be that it would be easier for staff to handle. If someone besides the artist uploads CDNP, we have to check the avoid posting list to see what the condition is. If it’s “Only artist may post,” it’s always going to be a deletion regardless. If those artists imply Avoid Posting instead, we can skip that step entirely and delete immediately.

And as Versperus pointed out, the verified artist checkmark being publicly visible now will probably solve the incorrect flag issue.

As for this, downvoting simply because this is an issue for NotMeNotYou to deal with, and not something that should be done through an alias request on the forums.

Also, technically - as absurd as this would be - bikomation could create a new account to evade the ban, upload his art, and then likely get promptly banned again for ban evasion. But the post itself was still posted by the artist, so I suppose we would still approve it.

Please do not enable ban evasion.
Additionally as DNP is handled outside the main website user system, artist is more than free to use other contact methods and email to alter their DNP or even nuke everything they have here, just because their account is banned doesn't really touch their content.

That would likely ruin any chances he has of appealing the ban, though, so I would not encourage that. It’s just a hypothetical situation

Why not add a "dnp_artist_only" tag or similar?

That's literally avoid_posting. Yeah maybe aliasing avoid_posting to that might work.
