This is a good way right here to have any future opinions be tossed out like garbage if you are responding to a serious conversation.

Is he necessarily wrong, or are you just deflecting the point?

There is practically nobody that specifically wants to change these tags; for those that didn't say so, they only mentioned which of the options they preferred because you didn't explicitly say "or just say 'this is dumb' if you don't like any of these".

Dickgirl is hardly used outside this site. I'm surprised we do not use shemale, personally. FA, e621, and a few other furry sites are the only ones I know of that discourage the use of that term (instead opting for "intersex" or "transgender"). However, nobody uses the other terms you've proposed.

I'll say it again - the problem is not that we're presented with bad options. It's that it feels like we're being forced to make a change that nobody asked for and nobody really wants to do. The amount of effort that would go into redefining an entire gender would be astronomical compared to how little people have complained historically about the term. I've seen people complain about "cuntboy", which personally, I would have less of a problem with changing; however, it too has no safe alternatives that would be understood by more than 1% of the userbase. I've never, throughout years of dickgirl/herm tagging disputes, seen anyone explicitly complain about how dickgirl is an offensive term, and that it should be changed.

And frankly, forcing everyone to use an arbitrary, obscure term would make us look even more like pretentious douchebags.

Wiki and aliases, how do they work?

People would constantly be complaining that they can't add the "dickgirl" tag because it's existed for many, many years now, and those of us who've added it to hundreds (if not thousands) of posts will be slow to accept the arbitrary change.

He's entirely wrong. It's not an internet thing.

I have no issues with shemale, and the negativity with the term has slid into oblivion at this point unless you are over 50.. dickgirl is fresh, and implies very negative. normally whorish qualities.. and yes. I know where I am XD

System's automated.

I don't want to sound like a dickhead but... eh, who is it that is offended/doesn't like the term Dickgirl except Aurali?

I guess whatever artist nagged Aurali into thinking this was a good idea.

I can't bring myself to care. Do you value a tradition just because it's a tradition?

No, I value it because it's the real-life equivalent of switching which side of the road a country drives on based on little to no evidence that it's safer/more efficient. It causes mass confusion with no benefit.

Pfahahahaha, no it fucking isn't. It is literally just changing the name of the tag and using it *exactly the same way*.
No, it isn't perfectly necessary, but it also isn't a big deal.

It's not just "not perfectly necessary". It's not necessary at all.

Just take a look at any of my responses on this thread. Or the other one, for that matter.

This entire thing just sounds like a tumblr war.
"Halp! I'm being oppressed"
Think of it this way, calling someone black is not offensive, its on federal forms, write ups, etc.
African American may be the proper term, but black is both more common, and easier.
And on the other side, White people are called WHITE, I haven't seen someone yell "racist!" at someone for not referring to them as Caucasian...

sorta is XD though it's weird how only certain racial slurs are considered "top tier"

I see your point, but... eh. If it stays dickgirl, that's fine. If it changes anyway, I would just prefer androfem.

Although at least you presented a good argument. "Now allow me to retort..."

This is an image board. It's not designed to be a character gallery or a roleplay site. The specific background of a character (unless it's animated or actually printed on the image) is of literally no use for tagging purposes because of TWYS.

It has a penis, breasts, and no pussy. Whether it was born that way or it was transitioned from a different gender is irrelevant, because the image is a standalone entity. Literally zero information should be used outside what can be inferred from the image (except for artist/character names and creation year). The history of a character or whatever philosophical ideals that are involved with its gender have no bearing on its tagging, so the distinction between the two possible explanations for "why the fuck does she have a dick oh god i dont remember anything why is my ass so sore" doesn't really have any effect on what the tag will ultimately be named.

In an objective sense, we're supposed to be coming up with a name for a person with those three sexual characteristics, and nothing else.

Wow... seems she lost her Admin rank over this form stuff.... Owell and I didn't find Dickgirl offensive in the less.

So much this ^

However we already -have- a name for a character with those three sexual characteristics. Just one person, and perhaps a small handful of others, is having issues with it because it causes them bad feels. Seriously, there's no argument here. Just leave things as they are, leave this word as it is and move on. There are no searching issues, there is nothing wrong with this term, everything is fine and the functionality of the site honestly works quite well.

It's not intended to be permanent, but she does need a day or two off (and yes I was the one that removed her).

She does have her reasons for doing things like making these forum threads and the recent news post, but I've been talking with her and trying to guide her some more. She's been understandably frustrated lately, and she just needs a little time off to get that sorted. :) I'll continue to try to help her do so.
