Topic: [REJECTED] Glamrock Bonnie Update

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #5330 has been rejected.

mass update glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) -> glamrock_bonnie_(fanmade)

Reason: All current images under the glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) tag uses different fanmade designs due to an official Glamrock Bonnie not being a thing until the Ruin DLC for Security Breach. Someone made a different tag for the official one, titled glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf_ruin), in which goes against all other Fnaf character tags.

So I propose an update to the old tag and then repopulate the glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) one for the newer posts.

EDIT: The bulk update request #5330 (forum #372761) has been rejected by @McDonaldsChicken15.

I don't have a problem with changing around the tags as suggested, but I think the change for glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) -> glamrock_bonnie_(fanmade) might need to be done manually. If Glamrock Bonnie now has an official design that people are using and tagging, this mass update would change those instances of the official design to the _(fanmade) tag.

No no, like I said, someone made a glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf_ruin) tag for the official ones. After the original gets updated, we can just replace that tag for glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf)

Unless the update feature works as an alias and all future tagging would automatically alias too?

As of right now, there are 180 posts tagged with glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf). All of which feature the fanmade models and NONE of them the official model. A mass update will be a good thing to do as fast as possible before things start to get mistagged. It will be better to do fewer manual tag edits later on (if any will occur) instead of 180.

Mass updates are not aliases. It just moves all the posts with a particular tag to another tag in one go.

An update is just a one-time change, so it's not a problem for future uses. And if all current uses are for the fanmade design then applying it now would be fine. But I don't know whether anyone's started tagging glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) for the official design, and the longer this BUR takes to be applied, the higher the risk that glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) will be tagged for the official design.

The vast majority of posts under glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) look close enough that I don't think making a new character tag is worth it. We don't usually give unofficial variations their own tags, we just use the normal character tag, potentially with modifiers like alternate_species. Relatively few posts for any character look exactly like the source, and when they do that's what on_model is for.

If that’s the case, then all the posts with the glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf_ruin) tag must be edited to have the normal glamrock_bonnie_(fnaf) tag. The wiki must then be updated to give a brief explanation on the two design variations that exist (official design and fanmade designs)

Now that that's resolved I guess I'll just reject the bulk request now. Thank you for the update, Zenith! 👍
