Reason: Mods told me "Approved: The best way to resolve all of these would be to submit a Bulk Update Request on the forum, and request mass deletion of these. That way the community can have involvement, and items can be added or subtracted from the list."

I didn't even know that was a thing, and I have no idea if I'm doing this right at all even with reading the wiki page but here is my shot at this.

My issue was user 449843, currently named Garbagios, is making up a shit ton of redundant tags and the only person using any of these tags seems to be them. The tags aren't helping anyone find anything, especially when all they're doing is adding half a dozen tags to a single image that all mean younger_penetrated. Then another dozen tags to the same image to add male and female versions of a bunch of other tags. Some of these would technically alias a couple things since all of their tagging is simply combining other tags together for no reason, but I'm not sure if I can make multiple aliases with a BUR. They are also tagging a bunch of non evolved pokemon as young and cub even though some of these posts have gone SIXTEEN YEARS without the tags. They seem to be changing tags to fit their own view of things. I don't think the BUR can fix them tagging pokemon wrong so I was kinda hoping there was an undo all on their tagging and users can fix the relatively minor decent tagging they have done while the BUR prevents them from making up more redundant tags. About half of the tags in this list they are using, the rest showed up in tag search and look absolutely useless or so few people use them they aren't doing anything other than clutter up the tags, so we might as well get rid of them/fix them. I opened this can of worms, might as well see it through. Some might be better as implications than aliases but I'd rather see what other people think first. I prefer a cleaner tag list than a bunch tags that are so specific that while yes, that is technically in this image, but no one will ever search for that so why add the tag.

There is also some other minor tag fixes along this line of reasoning. Adult_on_cub has 5.4k posts but adult_on_young only has 1.4k. Shouldn't it be adult_on_young, since all cub is young, but not all young is cub, and you can just search that and cub to get the results you want?

cub_receiving - I saw this and said, "What the hell does that mean?" Receiving what? If you go up to someone and tell them your receiving and leave it at that they're going to stare at you like your crazy because that doesn't mean anything on its own. A cub receiving oral says the tag page. Then cub and oral. Why make up another tag for this? And there's a hell of a lot more than 234 posts of cubs receiving oral so either there's a better tag or this should just go

older_on_XYZ - Just need to go. We have older_male, older_female, young/cub/baby etc. These tags are too general to be useful for searching. Just adds clutter to the tags

younger_feral - implies a bunch of other younger tags exist, such as younger_anthro, but they aren't in use.

feral_penetrating_XYZ. Human, anthro, feral, humanoid are being used a lot, but compared to the number of images tagged feral_penetrating, people dont seem to be using feral_penetrating_(male/female/gyno/andro/herm) nearly as much. Feral_penetrating_gynomorph has 15 images while feral_penetrating + gynomorph has 933. If thats what your looking for using the more specific tag is useless if everyone doesn't use it

The more I look into tags the more I see that need fixed so I'm just going to have to stop adding tags here.

Wiki page says errors should just be removed and added to the forum post so here they are. Also says 25 entries max so this is going to have to get split up.

I disagree with aliasing away young_penetrated and young_penetrating. They may be currently underused, but they go well with the other *_penetrated and *_penetrating tags.

Also, young_male and young_female (and young_* in general); knowing what specifically is young is a good thing.

Its mostly because there are already ways to find most of these things with combinations of tags.
We already have younger_penetrated and younger_penetrating. If we keep the tags we would need to imply young_penetrated and young_penetrating to all of them.
So young, penetration -age_difference should get the same result if for some reason you want to search young_penetrated/penetrating but don't want the age difference implied by younger_penetrated/penetrating
young, penetration -age_difference
young_penetrated/penetrating -younger_penetrated/penetrating
Should have the same result without having the extra tag
I might be thinking about it differently than you were saying it though

And I feel like it shouldn't be too hard to find young males/females without needing an extra tag for it, but I do understand your point. Its mostly that there are over 200k young tagged images and using these young_male/female tags wont help someone find young males/females if everyone doesn't use it. We don't need male and female variants of every tag out there. I know they've removed male/female versions of tags before because they are pretty redundant.

Of course young_(tag) for most tags would simply be too specific, but for the larger tags it can be very useful. The current third result for young male, post #4151676, is not a young male. Nor is the 8th, 9th, 20th, and overall about a fifth of the ones on the first page. That makes it very hard to effectively blacklist, without cutting out a lot of other content.

I personally dislike younger_penetrated and younger_penetrating, and would prefer it if people used young_penetrated/penetrating and age_difference instead. Might be too late for that now, though.

The younger_penetrated/penetrating could be aliased to young_penetrated/penetrating then add age difference on your own, but someone before my time clearly decided younger penetrated/penetrating was the way to go. I would be happy with either result, but either way your going to have to add or subtract age_difference.

The thing is, younger_penetrated/penetrating is only applied when there is age_difference. For young penetration, there's no way of knowing whether the young character is the one being penetrated, doing the penetrating, or potentially just a side character entirely. Since those are completely different situations, having tags for them is good. If they were tagged well, younger_penetrated/penetrating would be relatively useless, as then using young_penetrated/penetrating and age_difference would give very similar results. I don't think undertagging is a reason to get rid of a tag.

Edit: I think I need to clarify my thoughts a bit.
I think young_* is important when the * is a tag that inherently requires 2+ characters, or if young + * has a large number of results that young_* wouldn't apply to.

Edit 2: OK, younger_penetrated, younger_penetrating, and young penetration -age_difference should largely cover the relevant situations. It's not great, but young_penetrating/penetrated is so undertagged comparatively that it would take too much work to fix.
I still like other young_* tags though, for new tags, as it's far simpler.

Young and penetration is only applicable in this case when you subtract age_difference, because yes, there would be no knowing whether it was the young doing the penetrating or being penetrated. If you get rid of age difference it will ONLY be young penetrating/being penetrated Otherwise you can use younger_penetrated/penetrating because young and penetration will include all younger_penetrated/penetrating images.
young, penetration and -age_difference will only have young doing the penetrating and being penetrated.

Everything tagged with young penetrated/penetrating can be found with young, penetration -age_difference or younger_penetrated/penetrating if they have been tagged properly with tags that are already in widespread use
younger_penetrated will get young_penetrated
younger_penetrating will get young_penetrating
and if you want to see the youngs penetrated/penetrating without them being youngER
young, penetration and -age_difference

I might be over or under thinking parts of it, but its not hard to find what your looking for without needing the extra tag.

Note that young and younger aren't the same thing. young_penetrating can't be aliased to younger_penetrating because if the two characters are in the same young age range, the penetrating character would be young but not younger. Similarly, younger_penetrating can't be aliased to young_penetrating, since a 20/30 year old penetrating a 60 or 70 year old for example, the penetrating character would be younger but not young.

Removed

alias young_penetrated -> young
alias young_penetrating -> young

People don't seem to like them so they can be dealt with later elsewhere.

young_male can't be aliased to shota, since shota is only supposed to be used in sexual situations. That said, the other way around could work, since it's not a very useful distinction. Same with young_female and loli. Getting rid of loli and shota would definitely have to be a BUR on it's own though, for such common tags.

I'm fine with everything else in this part of the BUR.

Alright, didn't realize that loli/shota implied explicit or suggestive content.

However we still don't need a young_female/male tag. People can type in young and female/male and deal with looking, just like everyone else that has to look through posts. They get rid of male/female versions of so many tags because they just look messy and we do NOT need the distinction to find posts. Young is a distinction we need. Breaking it down more isn't necessary. Because someone is lazy and doesn't want to have to bother looking through some posts isn't a very good reason. But again, you will never make tags to cover every conceivable scenario. If you try to make a tag for everything its just going to get ugly. Also, people aren't using young_female/male nor is anyone going to go back through over 200k posts of young to retag all the young pictures as young_male or young_female. So few posts use young_female/male that there is no point in it existing, you will literally not see over 99% of content.

I will not alias anything over to young_female or young_male because they aren't useful tags IMO, especially in their current state. I removed aliasing away young_male and young_female because its causing too many problems with getting other valid changes through and can be dealt with elsewhere.

This shouldn't be an alias, while most posts that are male/male fisting are probably going to involve a male fisting a male, there are potential edge cases involving a mixed sex threesome or group sex where the person doing the fisting and who is receiving the fisting wouldn't be clear otherwise.

The admins have been reluctant to support additional x_verbing_y tags beyond penetrating, wanting to come up with some other way that doesn't result in so many tags.

I could understand where you were coming from if searching male/male and fisting didn't return almost exclusively what you want. But it does so I don't really see the need for the distinction. Again, we don't need a tag for every conceivable scenario.

I'm BURned out for tonight... Have fun with punching out Ali(ases)!

Man, revealing my oldness with that reference. Spoiler: Mike didn't.

:edit: Continuing!

male_fisting_male -fisting Looks done, anyways.
male_fisting_male -male Done
male_fisting_male -male_penetrating_male I thought this one was invalid, but it's fingering that isn't considered penetration. Was gonna say... And done!
male_fisting_male -male/male Just verified because it would be embarrassing to miss one. Done

older_brother -brother_(lore) Does this need older_male as well? Not started. One was mistagged, others, I added brothers (lore)/older_*/younger_*/... tags. Done.
older_brother male/male -brothers_lore Done
older_brother -older_male Done
There's also older_sibling/older_siblings/younger_sister/younger_brother tags but check BUR #6.

older_on_child -older_male -older_female The older females seem to be tagged, as well - done.
older_on_child -older_male -older_female -older_intersex Done, but post #3806157 needs looking at - not sure what to do, there.

older_on_young -older_male Seems all the older males are tagged. Done
older_on_young -older_male -older_gynomorph -older_female -older_ambiguous -older_andromorph -older_intersex Done

Older_on_* has a slight problem... the 'older' can also be one of the young tags. Not sure if that has any impact on it but it could.

older_rape I still say using "rape" instead of "rapist" leads to people accidentally tagging this instead of *_raped.
older_sister -sister_(lore) Should we also have older_female? Remember that this includes older_herm/older_gynomorph as well.

These seem odd to worry about. BTW, smaller is not the same as younger, in case anyone made that mistake. Seems obvious but maybe not?
smaller_fingered+-smaller_* Done
smaller_fisted+-smaller_* Done
smaller_fisting+-smaller_* Done
smaller_fingering+-smaller_* Done

smaller_rape Only result, I added larger_female, larger_human, smaller_feral, smaller_male so this is done, I guess.
smaller_raped -male_raped -female_raped -ambiguous_raped -gynomorph_raped Done
smaller_raped -male_rape -female_rape -ambiguous_rape -gynomorph_rape Done

young_anthro+-anthro Done

Allow me to interject: topic #31357

https://e621.net/forum_topics/31357?page=1#forum_post_366870 More specifically...

If anyone wants to help with cleaning those search results I linked to, it would be appreciated! I just posted links to make it easier to verify and (for me, especially) to know what I did without doing a post edit search. This is a long BUR project so keeping organized with a sort of checklist helps as well.

Larger_rape/smaller_raped should probably be aliased to each other, not to rape. The absence of a 'd' on the end indicates who the victim is. The presence of a 'd' indicates who the perpetrator is. A lot of these should actually be an implication

Some irony compared to when this BUR was submitted. Situation with a lot of these tags has greatly changed. They're far more likely to be tagged, now.
