Topic: Tag Alias: agehao -> fucked_silly

Aliasing agehao → fucked_silly
Link to alias

Reason:

Agehao is the phonetics for 'fucked silly' in Japanese, and many people know the term; and prefer using it to the English equivalent; and therefore try to tag images as such. Due to agehao not being a tag, it gets erased from an image by mods or tag-sensitive users, instead of being replaced by fucked_silly.

Admin note: Alias should be for ahegao.

I don't know that much about these tags, but these should probably be discussed all at once:

  • ahegao - Eyes rolled back, mouth open.
  • fucked_silly - Any silly facial expression?
  • orgasm_face - Looks similar to ahegao to me, might be worth considering

first off, its ahegao, not agehao, secondly, the tag is used for specific expression, not for characters that are fucked silly. it can be used for solo images or characters pulling that expression for non sexual reasons.

Oh, good point, I hadn't thought of that. In that case, I agree, I could see a reason to keep the two separate.

Alias denied.

As Granberia mentioned already, there's already been extensive discussion on this in the past and the conclusion is that they aren't the same even if they look fairly similar. It also looks like they discussed some implications between ahegao/orgasm_face/fucked_silly but even those don't really work.

  • ahegao -> orgasm_face - Apparently this is sometimes used for non-sex/non-masturbation purposes, but I don't know that much about it. If true this wouldn't work. If it wasn't true this would probably be the closest implication to working. I don't think it quite works well enough right now to justify an implication.
  • ahegao -> fucked_silly - Apparently this is sometimes used for non-sex/non-masturbation purposes, but I don't know that much about it. Even if it wasn't true, the character may have been masturbating.
  • orgasm_face -> ahegao - Characters tagged with orgasm_face aren't always making the ahegao face.
  • orgasm_face -> fucked_silly - orgasm_face can be used for masturbation.
  • fucked_silly -> ahegao - Characters tagged with fucked_silly aren't always making the ahegao face.
  • fucked_silly -> orgasm_face - Can be used for post-orgasm to show a sense of extreme satisfaction.

We need an english word for it though.

Suggestions are certainly welcome as we generally favor using English words, but note that there isn't always going to be a simple English equivalent available for us to use.

I had a few minutes, so I went ahead and did a write-up on a few of these for discussion.

Non-English tags

Ones that we don't really have alternate tags for:

  • bukakke - Yes, it's always brought up in these discussions, but it's an extremely well-known term in pornography and essentially a loanword at this point. Culturally this was started as a byproduct of Japanese censorship laws; essentially they found a way to make good porn by deemphasizing the genitals and focusing on the body of the actor. Despite the lack of similar censorship laws, Western culture probably just found it hot enough that it was largely unnoticed that the concept originated in Japan (it happens).
  • chibi - Term used in otaku subculture, and is essentially a loanword. There is no real equivalent in English.
  • omorashi - A fairly obscure term for most people that centers around the psychological aspect of the point between "I have to go pee really bad right now but can't" and "oh no, I've wet myself". Culturally this is probably also related to Japanese censorship laws, but only in that more hardcore urine-related pornography would be illegal and this provides those seeking this sort of thing a niche to fall into. It's likely obscure in Western culture because the softcore nature of it is overwhelmed by more readily available hardcore content. We have wetting, but that's more specific than this.
  • tsundere - This has a specific cultural context and there isn't really any good equivalent of this in English or Western culture in general.

More complex ones:

  • anime - Japanese-style animation, here it usually refers to images though. Vague but...well that's pretty much all I have on this one. It definitely has a lower rate of abuse than it did in the past, but it's probably common enough for people blacklist/search.
  • kemono - Refers to a style more than anything, but nothing has come of it yet. I suspect everyone is afraid to touch it. forum #145600 suggests invalidating it, while forum #63213 suggested it as a species tag (which puts it into more context, actually), but I'm still not 100% sure of this right now.
  • kemonomimi - We use animal_ears for this right now, but there is no real equivalent in English. There are plans for this, but the details aren't quite worked out right now.
  • manga/doujinshi - Both essentially refer to comics made in Japan. The former refers somewhat to the style common with Japanese comics, the latter is probably best summarized by "indie fan comics". If there was a japanese-style_comic tag, I might be inclined to throw both of these in there.

Easier ones that are defunct or largely defunct:

  • barazoku - Roughly but not exactly equivalent to "bear", a term used in gay subculture. I don't think anybody really remembers this tag even exists and I have doubts that it's actually being actively tagged right now. We could probably clear it out safely without even aliasing it. Interestingly, bara was aliased to barazoku even though "bara" is a more widely used term for this (presumably to clarify usage). However, it's worth mentioning that if you google "barazoku" it pulls up e621 as the second result (right under wikipedia). :V
  • guru - Was aliased to gore because it's really "close enough" for our purposes.
  • yaoi/yuri - "girl love" "boy love" - Young same sex-related content. Aliased away right now.
