Topic: Artists you miss

Posted under Off Topic

Of all the artists who has gone inactive, moved on from the NSFW art world, or even worse, passed away, which one(s) do you miss the most?

I'll start with the husband and wife duo of Nitro and CashewShibaInu/Sif. Nitro drew some of the best titties in the game and Cashew was the artist of my favorite Amy Rose pic of all time. Ever since they got married they have gradually retired from NSFW. Nitro is a game developer these days, and Cashew has all but removed her porn art from the internet. Last I checked her Twitter bio indicated that she found Jesus, before she deleted her Twitter altogether. Obviously I can't ask for their return, but I wish them the best.

Eric Blumrich...

He made a lot of good furry art until the year 2000. I consider him one of the "founding fathers of Furry". Not only was he very gifted, but had a vision of the Furry Fadom pretty apart from many then and now. He began to make grandiose scenaries of a theme that interested him much, namely Autoritarianism / Dictatorship, left- or rightwing, sometimes even with the aesthetics of German Expressionism, for example.

Very little survives from him, to be found. He ended up bad with the Furry Fandom, as enemy of many. Because he was oposed to the trend, that Furry Art would be identified mostly with sex. Even in the latest award-winning movie "The Fandom", he is depicted as a the leader of some kind sect of "anti-gay Furry Nazis" (nonsense, since if I remember well, Blumrich is Jewish).

He created what I believe was the most profound and grandiose graphic art of the Furry Fandom of the 90s. Unfortunatelly I cannot show you examples of that, since it all seems to be gone... maybe even destroyed by Blumrich himself, I don't know.

During decades I have searched for his art in the Internet with little to no results.

After that, he continued to create graphic art, mostly political "anti-Republican" (he was very involved with the left in the USA). And probably because of that, because he wanted to be taken seriouly, he desapeared as most as he could, all of his art of furry character. Or at least, that was what I think, happened.

I admired his art and his visions. And I lament profundly that probably I will never see that marvelous art again.

Probably not.

Yeah I heard about that, sorry, I just started naming artists that I remembered, he was one of the artists that got me interested in the fandom.

Joe's still active on Twitter tho

Twitter huh, yeah that’s probably why I haven’t seen him in awhile, I try to avoid that site as much as possible

He's definitely been singing in the choir invisible since 2017.

this, hits me pretty hard, his comics always made me smile

...aaaaaaaaaannnnnnd subscribed.

There's this weird conspiracy theory that he's in fact 4 artists with related comics. Given how inactive all 4 artists were after all those years... I have my doubts. The weirder one is that he is still alive, like Elvis Presley. Utter nonsense, but meh, grief hurts. I miss his stories about giant space cats. :(

Can't recall the names of many, but I prefer paintings(especially non-digital) over drawings and in a relatively realistic style, and most artists that do that well tend to disappear fairly quickly. Presumably by getting some kind of art job in most cases.

That said, I miss Kenkets anthro art, particularly during her golden post-blotch breakup period. Some absolutely fantastic pieces from that period.

IIRC, one of the other artists was a pseudonym he used for drawing NSFW, and the other two were pseudos used by his wife. Or so the story went, anyway.

There's several I miss and know by name, and that's two of them. DarkNek0Gami is another. I've only been able to find other people wondering where he went. Also Dr. Kimono, before he took his ball and went home, leaving art altogether last I heard.

So many others I've forgotten the names of.

Honorable mention: Clef. AFAIK not really known in many (any?) furry circles, but he was the guy behind the WoW comic Sara & Kleeyo. He did really cute Tauren (and even a Gnoll) but about five years ago he just disappeared, leaving the comic hanging, and no one's seen or heard from him since. I always hoped one day he would go beyond suggestive and do full NSFW stuff.

Going to add dust-kun to this list. They popped on about seven years ago, made some very good charr art, then vanished. Their FA links are deleted and channel is set to private no idea what happened.

shia

Shia's art was a combination of being sexy, cute and funny. You don't find many NSFW artists who can pull off the first two simultaneously. Usually art styles lean much more towards one than the other. I believe shia is doing board games or something now? I think he's moved on from art entirely.

Hmm, I forget names. Trunchbull, Kenket, Purplekecleon, definitely Domovoi Lazaroth, Wolfy-nail a bit (this game of his could be interesting), Vexxy and probably few more including some of the above.
If I included active artists that changed so much that they seem to be completely different there would be more.

Blackmesajoe comes to mind, dependant on one's idea of what qualifies. Lad materialised out of thin air one day, dropped a shitload of high-quality alien fuckin', then vanished back into the aether.

Shia's DA and Patreon are still active, not as much NSFW recently, but he's still doing art. although, I think Pippa #4 came out last year, maybe?

King-Cheetah. I liked his art and his style. He unfortunately passed away due to cancer 4 years ago.

I've been rather lucky with that so far. The only one I know of is kayla_orca. They deleted their furaffinity account, not sure if they're still active elsewhere.

Forgot to mention Doug Winger, whose art of girls with giant schlongs became so famous in the furry community that the act of drawing chicks with massive dicks became to be known as Wingerizing. Oh fun fact: He worked as a freelance animation background artist for Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer and The Angry Beavers.
