Topic: [APPROVED] Invalidate ‘painted’ tag

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #4075 is active.

create alias painted (3) -> painted_(disambiguation) (22)
change category painted_(disambiguation) (22) -> invalid

Reason: There are many different things that can be associated with ‘painted’, making the painted tag itself seem redundant and pointless.

From the ‘painted’ wiki page

'painted' has multiple possible meanings. Use one of these tags instead:

  • body_writing - writing, etc that is drawn on a character's body, often with a marker
  • paint - a colorful liquid that is used to add designs or change the color of a surface
  • paintbrush - a tool used to spread paint, while making designs with it
  • creating_art - when a character is shown drawing, painting, or creating some type of art
  • colored_nails - when a character's nails are a color or have patterns, almost like they have been painted with nail polish

EDIT: The bulk update request #4075 (forum #356725) has been approved by @slyroon.

Could also do the same for illustration, which some people use for to indicate a post is an illustration, which is practically what everything here is.

It’s my first time making an invalidation request, so I wasn’t sure what to do precisely.

You can edit the script, still?
The normal way seems to be creating a disambiguation Wiki entry, then requesting alias to '*_(disambiguation)' tag. Painted seems to already have the disambiguation list, so it's trivial to just alias it. Those automatically get made invalid if I remember right.

The difference is that it makes it easier to see if it's already been disambiguated?

Unfortunately not, you still have to do the category change on the new tag. That's why disambiguation requests have to be BURs.

Okay, I edited the BUR to include the painted_(disambiguation) tag as well as create a wiki page on said tag. Hopefully it makes sense now.
