Topic: [APPROVED] Self harm scars BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #4048 is active.

create alias self_harm_scars (8) -> self-harm_scars (308)
create implication self-harm_scars (308) -> scar (81755)
create alias self_harm (6) -> self-harm (494)
create implication cutting_self (42) -> self-harm (494)

Reason:
I don't think this would violate TWYS, self harm scars are usually drawn a specific way, many straight lines on the forearms and thighs. This could be an important blacklist tag for some people.
Examples:
post #3197030 post #3093557 post #4068620 post #3990580

Making it singular instead of plural to match all the other scar tags.
Edit: Also adding a self_harm -> self-harm alias as they mean the same thing and Wikipedia hyphenates it. Not sure if self-harm_scar should imply self-harm - I'm leaning toward no, that self-harm should be for images showing the act itself? That's how it's currently being used, mostly.
Added cutting_self -> self-harm because cutting oneself is a form of self-harm.

EDIT: The bulk update request #4048 (forum #356493) has been approved by @slyroon.

I went through all the tags that this BUR touches and was just about to +1. But when looking at the cutting_self tag, post #4055679 showed up and made me think about that last implication.

The character in that post is definitely cutting herself, but would we consider that self-harm? I guess we could say yes, because she might now have trouble walking on that right leg and she certainly will if she does more cutting. What throws me off is that this cutting doesn't seem to cause the character any pain.

I'm no expert on food_creatures. (That doesn't grow back, does it?) What do others think?

IMO those types of images could be searched for/blacklisted/excluded from the blacklist with self-harm candy_gore
So if you don't want to see regular self-harm but fantasy stuff like that with no pain is ok, that's what candy gore is, so you'd blacklist self-harm -candy_gore

DimoretPinel made a good point that a defining trait (twys wise) of self harm scars is that they're in groups, so I'm changing this bur over to self-harm_scars.

+1. Also agree that scars plural makes more sense. If it's singular it probably isn't a sh scar under twys.

uhhh hold it

One of the posts you used as example, post #3990580's "self-harm scars" look more like stretch marks to me, especially since theyre on the outside of the thighs instead of in and extend upwards to the waist.

How do we differenciate stretch marks from thigh self-harm scars?

Stretch marks don't generally appear on the outer side of the upper arm like that, I'm pretty sure they are sh scars

Edit: Also they're hard to see on the black fur, but there's also lines in the typical forearm location, and stretch marks definitely aren't a thing there lol
