Topic: Post Pending

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

Sooo, I have a post that hasn't been approved for a few days and the last time that happened a post got deleted.

How do we avoid these situations? It wasn't covered in the Q/A.

High quality posts, sources, artist tags.
That's about it, what you can do to make it faster. It is more or less random what gets approved first.

(I wish I had a dollar each time I see this question :P)

I think I got all three of those covered, but thanks for responding.

It'd be nice if it was covered in the sticky.

What you can do is get the admins and janitors to like you enough to stop deliberately ignoring you.

That was a joke, but to give a serious answer, if a post hasn't been approved after several days, chances are they've already seen the posts in question and are trying to come to a decision what to do about it.

On the New Upload page, you can find a link for you to review the Uploading Guidelines which would serve as a good rule of thumb to follow.

As for your unapproved post, I would assume that you are talking about post #3748444. It will fall under the quality control for edits.
In my opinion, it should be deleted due to it being a low effort edit, the reasons being:

  • Simply putting a blue filter over an otherwise fine artwork is non-creative.
  • Leftover dotted line from a failed crop appearing on the left side of the artwork.

It's actually even more basic than that.
Edits must be of the same quality as the original, and post #3748444 is like a third of the size of the original (post #3539691).

I wouldn't mind the simple recoloring job, but the cropped stuff on the left is just unacceptable.
