Reason: It's hard to tell what kind of optical disc is being depicted in drawings in this site (sometimes it is hard to tell in real life), and since this site has a Tag What You See policy, if the artist said what type of disc it is, for tagging purposes it does not matter what the artist says it is, but what it looks like.

Note: Could not add cd and compact_disc.

Given that blu-ray has a recognizable logo and color, I'm not sure it should be aliased.

I am generally not a huge fan of aliasing away empty tags. It's just... kind of pointless.

My worry is a lot of these tags get used for the cases almost as often as the disc itself.

I do agree that the discs themselves are indistinguishable though. Blu-Rays having the blue reflection is one defining feature, but isn't always the case, and DVDs and CDs can be coloured too.

I think it's related to this alias that I proposed recently.

Program material is recorded on the other side of this disc.

blu-ray is a brand, and notable for their blue disc cases. Should be blu-ray_disc and implicated at that.

I distinctly remember once owning some sort of promotional Shrek game that was on one of those tiny CDs and the whole thing was green tinted. Wouldn't surprise me if blue CDs existed too.

I don't think the other cases are really all that valid to tag the "disc" but blu-ray.

this stuff should probably be moved to blu-ray_case or dvd_case. (and in the case of CDs/CD-ROMs/PS1/Dreamcast/whatever jewel_case)

i agree 80%, blu-ray_case is a bit cluttered and could just be paired down to blu-ray without bringing on too much confusion or delay.
