Topic: should we change the species_on_species tags to species/species?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

_on_ implies sex, whereas / can be sexual or romantic, which is typically the way it’s being tagged. asking your opinions before i make a bur, though

edit: i realize “species” probably wasn’t the best word to use but i’m not sure what i should use instead. to clarify i mean tags such as human_on_feral

What tags specifically are you talking about?

Generally speaking, we shouldn't have <species>/<species> tags.
It's way too specific, and results in massive tag bloat.

The x_on_y tags can be for sexually-oriented interaction, like passionate kissing or groping or imminent sex, not just sex itself. It's the x_penetrating_y tags that imply sex.

yes, but they’re also used for romantic interaction that isn’t sexual.

should they be restricted entirely to sexual situations? because if so, i’d want another tag for romantic ones.

It's simpler to let the tag be used for all situations. Anyone searching for explicit images can just use rating:e.

Still, if only for consistency's sake, it'd be nice if the [gender]/[gender] tags and the [form]_on_[form] tags used the same format.

Romantic or sexual I think is fitting for x_on_y tags. But there's a difference between romantic and platonic. The first one may be argued to be passionate kissing, and is thus romantic or sexual enough for the tag (kissing on the lips, and one of the ribbons reaching back around as if to embrace). The second appears to be more platonic than romantic, like a person caring for their pet, and thus wouldn't. It should be noted that <non-feral>_on_feral implies bestiality, as its a non-feral doing things romantically (or sexually) with a feral. The first one could fit, while I don't think the second one would.
