Reason: This tag is not being used for its intended purpose, as a generic trainer character or an actual Pokemon Trainer from the games, and is being widely used on identifiable characters and OCs where it's indicating a character's job/profession without them necessarily appearing as a trainer.

A Pokémon Trainer is an unidentified, generic, or unofficial character who trains Pokémon. This tag should not be added for recognized characters like Ash Ketchum, Serena, etc.

Typically identifiable by their Pokéball-motif clothing, or gear such as a Pokédex.

Not only are there multiple dozen pages of it applying to characters like Ash, Serena, Brendan, etc, many pictures don't have any identifiable traits of a trainer, like pokéballs or other trainer gear. If it's not going to be applied properly, and instead randomly thrown on various characters who may or may not be a pokémon trainer in other pictures, it's not a valid tag.

This implication is blocking it off. ...Undated, that must be ancient.

I intend to use pokémon_trainer as an umbrella for Trainer classes tags in the near future.

It would then be possible to remove the tag from any post that does not contain a tag that implies it, solving the mistagging issue with simple regular semi-automatic cleanup.
