This discussion will always be incomplete without mention of the amazing Monster Mind (post #1852937). Unfortunately it's Flash, but it's 100% worth playing if you can get it running. The source code is also available if anyone wants to try to port it to something else.
Dragon Sleuth Brittany is a neat point-and-click exploration/detective(?) game in the works, though it's very early on right now. Features dragons and avians.
There's also Hole Dweller which is a resource management-ish game. Lower res pixel art than you might be able to enjoy, but it does feature cum inflation, gender transformation, and breeding, though it costs resources to unlock the latter two (the former just requires relationship grinding, as long as you can do well in the minigames, Null's capable of cumming tons)

i used to play this all the time. eventually it gave me an existential crisis but i remember how great it was. the character writing is really nice, and i loved how there was always a dialogue choice that catered specifically to me.
Real question: Do folks consider visual novels as games? It’s not the most intuitive types of games but it’s still pretty interactive.

I think it's safe to say VNs are firmly considered video games at this point. You'll find dedicated sections or tags to visual novels in many online distributors and news is covered in a similar vein
And tbh they're not that different from some point-and-clicks or walking simulators anyways.

I fear I may have been mostly responsible for it. I had a funny idea for a meme post and then everybody immediately started picking it apart like a serious suggestion.
While it's more "monster girl" than furry, I highly recommend SHRIFT/Devil's Office if you are looking for a great character-driven rpg. It does have some anthro characters which is pretty rare for monster girl games (though that's becoming less and less true as of late).
Do note that it is extremely dark so if you are squeamish or easily depressed you might want to give it a pass.

I've grown out of visual novels for the most part, though I do still enjoy the "Turnabout" style games like Phoenix Wright, which people consider visual novel. It's far more actively interactive than your usual novel.

Tavern of spear on itch io. Just note that you absolutely want to do manual saves, there's some grinding and you don't want to lose progress by failing some battles and dying. Very fun furry game if you're into muscular gay content

Because since you didn't say, I'll just give you games heavy in M/M and latex/goo transformation stuff:
- Grove , RPGMaker, very explicit. Full of scalies, goo and corruption.
- Changed you've probably heard of, but I'm bringing it up anyway because it's basically my prototype of a fetish game done right. Simultaneously both very nearly squeaky clean except for a few suggestive poses, and absurdly, filthily fetishy with all of the latex tf stuff.

Some that I recommend:
-A new one I just found is Orc Massage - A 3D game where you play as a big ol' orc giving massages to clients with a progression system and a bit of strategy. The clients are like that humanoid furry hybrid type and the animation is actually pretty damn good. It's still in development, so expect some glitches here and there. (It does look like it will be M/F only. I don't see any plans from them including gay or intersex)
-There's Wild Life - Another 3D game that has a story mode and a free-roam mode to interact with the characters and environment. The story is focused around a human but you can switch to other characters in the free-roam mode. This is also in development and is one of the most demanding furry games I've played so far. I recommend having at least a decent computer setup, if not, expect some crashes or lag. (Anyone can enjoy this one. M/F, M/M, F/F, etc)
-Last one I recommend is Small On Top - A 2D scroller where the story is you play as a rabbit dude in a world of big hunky himbo bottoms (I can feel your judgement. I play ALL types of games, Husk don't discriminate). Complete objectives and puzzles, upgrade your team for battling, and more. (This one is exclusively M/M with heavy bara/himbo energy. If that ain't your jam, I suggest ignoring this one)

Most VN's I see are you just sitting there reading and once in a while clicking an option. Unless its like Automaton Story, where you can actually go around and do stuff, then its more of an interactive book than a game

I was talking more about how they're treated than anything. They're essentially treated as games by companies, politicians and the general public.
As for VNs themselves.....well that really depends on what you want to consider a game and what criteria need to be met.
Personally, I'd say they're as much video games as walking simulators or point-and-clicks. They're definitely closer to games than interactive books imo.

Carnal Instinct; A game similar to Wildlife (But on Steam!), an open world NSFW game with an Egyptian setting. The combat I feel is more fluid and there is a game to be had, although the sex stuff is quite stiff right now with non existent camera controls. Development is going strong
Hunt and Snare; Another Furry NSFW open world game (Also on steam), highly in the alpha stages right now, development is slow although the potential is there and it is still being actively developed, good camera controls but the optimisation and graphics right now is something to be desired.
KoboldKare; Can I really call this a game? It is more of a physics sim with farming and sex added to it. Only kobolds, and you'll probably be laughing more than you'll be getting horny off this. Fun hour or so with friends trying to make something out of this mess of a experience.
Skyrim; No Joke though, modded Skyrim with [Yiffy age of skyrim] By baddog, is probably one of the best NSFW games out there. Although since Skyrim is Skyrim, expect bugs, crashes and a lot of time trying to fix your mods before actually getting to the horny part.
I'm currently playing "my very own lith", it's a choose-your-own-path kinda game but you can have some really food times with the kitten there lmao

Right now I don't have much time to devote to the games, because I'm currently studying at the university and preparing for the exams. But the last thing I played was Diablo 2. The game turned out to be so interesting that it was very hard for me to leave it. My favorite thing to do there is to upgrade characters and get them rare items, weapons that I find in yes gamers. First I read the qualities of the selected item, then I look where it can be obtained / what bosses to get and then I do it, very exciting

theres Gamer struggles where you play as a femcel its in the early build so theres like 3 sex scenes but its barely came ot so give it some time
I tried looking up nsfw android ports of games, it's mostly visual novels or as I call them "Walking sims with no walking." It feels oversaturated and the easiest game to make, I just want a nsfw furry survival horror game like clock tower.

I don't really play a lot of furry games anyway cause my thing is more games featuring reverse rape I'm a fan of that. And most furry games aren't reverse rape.
