Okay, a few thoughts.

Firstly, I believe the official stance on teal is to abolish it in favor of blue. Plus, teal_blush hasn’t been used, so you could probably just take it out of the BUR.

Secondly, I have to wonder if we need a red_blush/pink_blush tag. That’s kinda the “default” color for blush, and usually* default colors for things are aliased away or invalidated, leaving only the unusual colors. Like, white_sclera is invalid, and white_teeth and white_cum are aliased to teeth and cum, respectively.

For some reason, black_pupils is a valid tag, even though nearly all pupils are black… it’s only been tagged close to 4900 times, though, which is a lot, but still far less than the total number of black pupils on the site. Similarly, you could make an argument that pink_tongue/red_tongue are in the same situation, as those are typical colors for tongues to be.

On the flip side, some people have suggested making tags like white_teeth valid again. Even though it is definitely the default tooth color, it’s not exactly the only color teeth can be, even in nature. Some animals may have naturally tan or yellow teeth. There’s also an argument to be made for white_sclera, such as for finding the rare Renamon drawn with that color, since her normal sclera color is black. But I digress…

Definitely all the weird colors should get the implication, I think. I’m still not sure if we need a red_blush/pink_blush tag at all, though. If we keep them, they are both vastly undertagged. They have 108 and 83 uses, respectively, and with nearly 600,000 posts tagged blush, I’m sure the vast majority of them are of those two colors. So… they’re missing from a few hundred thousand posts, at the very least. I think it may be better to just alias those two colors to blush instead… but I’m not sure. I’ll wait to hear what others have to say about it.

Sure, could you please link me to where that was ruled on though? I copied my list from tag_group:colors because I thought that was the up to date list

That's interesting, I'll take it to the discord and see if there's an official admin ruling. Definitely they should all be consistent, but I'm not sure which way is the official way.

For sure it would be a large tagging project if pink and red were made official tags. Not impossible with lots of people working on it though. Tagme.dev is good for this kind of thing.

It’s somewhat inconsistent regarding teal (as most things seem to be…), but:
teal_fur, teal_tail, teal_horns are all aliased to their green_* counterpart. Green, not blue; I misremembered.

However, as always, there are exceptions. teal_eyes and teal_hair still exist. teal_hair even implies hair, making it more or less an “official” tag.

I wouldn’t mind keeping teal around, personally, but I think that will also need an official admin ruling, since admin actions thus far have been inconsistent (both approving the teal -> green aliases, and approving the teal_hair -> hair implication…)
