Do you have sources on those definitions? Dental Dams on e621 so far that aren't beak sheaths do seem to be a round object, but they're still being used to prevent the sharp teeth from scratching the penis, very much the same concept as protecting from the beak.

FWIW, I've always heard dental dam to refer to the little rubber sheets for cunnilingus. post #1637794 and post #2562040 are the only ones in dental_dam that I would say are dental dams as I know them.

I'd like to suggest the implication beak_sheath -> beak_guard be added to this BUR, as beak sheath is a form of a beak guard (according to the FA descriptions of post #439652 and post #428529, the source Fur Affinity posts of which mark the creation of the beak sheath concept, a beak sheath is a set of form-fitting polymer 'lips' that on contact with saliva causes a temporary chemical bond to the beak while saliva lubricates and 'inflates' the covers to simulate a mammal's lips, protecting their mate's delicate bits from their sharp tomia and producing flavored lubrication.)
