How do I remove my old name from my profile?

I don't think this can be done, but as far as I know only the Admins can look your past usernames through your profile. People can still look your past username through Mods Actions... Hopefully they also make user name changes at Mod Actions private...

If you got quoted before your name change, the quoted name won't be updated and I'll also link back to your profile with your new name. So if you got quoted a lot from your past username, it will still show there after the username change.

And I also think people can use some kind of programming wizardry to see your past username, but I don't know how it works. bitWolfy when looking for my unique changed posts history also found my past username(it's in the url) or maybe it's an incredible coincidence. I dunno.

Well, janitors can see previous usernames as well. That, and I remember what you were called before you changed the name =P
I use the old one because the new name is... a handful, frankly.

I am amazed by the fact that you kept on to your old name for 7 years.
But no, as Sieghelm said, there is no way to do remove it from your profile. Thankfully, only staff members can see it.

Oi! This is the short version, I was really thinking in adding something more. But stopped at merely 2 names. Hahaha!

This is just speculation, but I think their name change has something to do with "Knotty's Blood Quota": blip #116217.
There's already almost 10 full new pages in less than 24 hours, wow!

Edit: Nvm.

For future reference, the name was changed today, after he'd gotten wind of the ban wave.

sounds interesting? What's this about a Ban wave?
I'm not on forums often, just a guy uploading images and liking images.
So like, this guy heard his inevitable ban and wanted to get his name change to hide or something?

hold up...nevermind, lmao. That's a one way ticket.

Wait, if he was permitted the rename, why ban him? I'd think it was worth giving him a chance under new name, especially seeing as he hadn't been doing much talking in seven years of having that old name.

play stupid games, win stupid prizes, even if he played seven years ago

I'd like to point out that the only reason why they changed their name is because their "friends with names like [theirs] were banned". Direct quote.
They have been perfectly fine with the original username otherwise.

It's weird that they didn't seem to be that active here, had friends that coincidentally shared the same problems with their name and that seemed to be active enough to realize the ban and warn op about the ban wave.

I think all name change requests are handled by the auto moderator now and it doesn't reject name changes, unless someone is changing names too many times? Dunno how it works.
