Topic: [APPROVED] Implying "diphallism" to "2_penises" BUR

The bulk update request #1323 is active.

create alias diphallactic (0) -> diphallism (5561)
create alias diphallia (0) -> diphallism (5561)
create alias diphallic (0) -> diphallism (5561)
create alias diphalism (0) -> diphallism (5561)
create alias diphalia (0) -> diphallism (5561)
create implication horizontal_diphallism (2852) -> diphallism (5561)
create implication vertical_diphallism (2096) -> diphallism (5561)
create implication diphallism (5561) -> 2_penises (22060)
create implication hemipenes (9995) -> 2_penises (22060)
remove implication hemipenes (9995) -> multi_penis (28063)

Reason: Counterpart to D.D.M.'s thread Aliasing 'diphallism' to '2_penises' BUR. This variant keeps diphallism for cases where a character has two separate penises, so that hemipenes applies to instances of two connected penises. Hemipenes will imply multi_penis through 2_penises.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1323 (forum #316638) has failed: Error: Antecedent name has already been taken; A tag alias for diphallism already exists (create alias diphallactic -> diphallism)

EDIT: The bulk update request #1323 (forum #316638) has been approved by @gattonero2001.

Reason this failed is that BUR #895 was passed, and aliased diphallism away, whereas this one would have kept it. These were two mutually exclusive requests.

I don't understand anything anymore.

My plan was to have Diphallism be the tag for when there are two separate penises as a counterpart to hemipenes, which is when two penises share a base. DDM aliased them together, so there's just 2_penises for any case where there's two penises, and hemipenes for images which will also have the 2_penises tag but happen to have a character with two penises connected.

I agree with you.

The bulk update request #2416 is active.

remove alias diphallism (5561) -> 2_penises (22060)
remove alias diphallactic (0) -> 2_penises (22060)
remove alias diphallia (0) -> 2_penises (22060)

remove implication vertical_diphallism (2096) -> 2_penises (22060)

Reason: This will need to occur in order to bring back Diphallism.

+1, also, this reminds me that I was considering that we may want to establish the same distinction for hemiclitores/2_clitorises, even though this situation is much less common. I’m not sure what term would be equivalent to “diphallism” for clitores, though.

As far as I can tell, there isn't one, although that doesn't mean there isn't some obscure medical term hidden in some dusty tome somewhere. 2_clitorises is your best bet unless you want to coin diclitorism.

Well, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had to coin a term here.

Interestingly, though, here’s what dictionary.com considers to be a phallus:

1.
an image of the male reproductive organ, especially that carried in procession in ancient festivals of Dionysus, or Bacchus, symbolizing the generative power in nature.
2.
Anatomy.
the penis, the clitoris, or the sexually undifferentiated embryonic organ out of which either of these develops.

Furthermore, their definition for diphallus:

A rare congenital anomaly in which the penis or clitoris is partially or completely doubled.

So it seems that, anatomically speaking, diphallism actually refers to both.

This, of course, is useless for tagging. So, perhaps diclitorism is the best way to go.

It would be hilarious if the words we coin here end up in the Oxford English Dictionary someday. :p

Reason: The clitoral counterpart to Furrin Gok’s diphallism BUR. See above discussion.

I would love that. 😂
