• Only "S A F E" images? I put every emphasis I could on safe.

• 3) What does it mean an artist is CDNP for pay content? Isn't pay content a Global DNP already? So why does it need to specify it?????

• 4) I think is the same as above: "anything not from their free galleries is DNP", what does that mean, isn't this a Global DNP already????????

1 & 2: probably a question for the artist
3 & 4: kind of redundant other than serving as a reminder. Also, I'd imagine it's easier to just grant CDNP status than to explain to the artist why it's redundant.

That's definitely something that could use clarifying. An artist's and this site's definition for NSFW can easily wildly differ, with things the artist considers NSFW to be Safe here (e.g. a bulge, or big covered breasts), and things the artist considers SFW to be Explicit here (e.g. an all-natural sheath on a feral, or tasteful nudity). Different artists can disagree amongst themselves too, so different artists having "No NSFW" can mean different things.

And this site doesn't really have a "NSFW" definition, either. Is Questionable considered NSFW, or just Explicit? When art comes from other sites, that too can muddy the waters; is a pic from FA labeled Mature (not Adult) considered NSFW? And sites like Twitter that do have a binary SFW/NSFW toggle seems very inconsistent; I've seen art put behind a potentially sensitive content warning for things that are unquestionably SFW, and others with no warning whatsoever be a full-on explicit sex sequence.

Redundancy, and probably as CrocoGator says, easier to explain. Artists can also be CDNP for "Only the artist is allowed to post", however an artist is always allowed to post their own work even when they're full DNP. But in cases where there's regular issues of pay material sneaking through or DNP artists' posts getting flagged when they themselves uploaded it, it's just easier to recognize some posts aren't or are allowed here with conditional_dnp rather than nothing or avoid_posting.

I would say stray away from completely from CDNP artists unless you have explicit permissions from them to post whatever content they allow you to.
This would get rid of any ambiguity in terms of their DNP content, as well as a safeguard for your posts from getting deleted.

As for pay content CDNP, they are mostly from before our "no commercial content" rule was implemented.
It can also stand for DNP on Patreon/paysite-exclusive content (such as alts or hi-res posts) that may be posted by the commissioners or character owners themselves.
Additionally, "free galleries only" may be a indication that no deleted, leaked or pirated content from other non-official galleries/websites are to be reposted here.

The total ban on paid content only happened in 2017, before then paid art older than two years old was allowed. I'd imagine a lot of the artists with CDNP specifically against paid content were on the list before the change happened.

I was looking more towards the artist's official galleries vs non-official ones like other image boorus (that don't have DNP rules) or social media sites (like reposts on Reddit, Facebook, etc.).
Anything other than the ones posted on the artist's gallery (such as from the commissioner's gallery) are subject to the artist's own discretion and Terms of Service.

I found on an old forum topic that the no pay content/paysite CDNP status are reminiscent from the 2 years rule for pay content as already mentioned by some of you.

1 - "Pay content" is used to describe all pay-to-view and commercial works where either an admission fee, subscription fee, or a copy has to be purchased in order to view it. This goes for both physical and digital products / works.

2 - Obviously if any content has been released for free later it will stop being DNP from that moment forward.
