Topic: Sets and Organizing

Posted under Off Topic

Just a thought. Started using sets to organize posts I like. Which is cool and all but it would also be nice if I could arrange the the posts in a particular order as well. I believe you are able to do this with pools so it would be appreciated if I could do the same with my private sets. I'm not really sure if there's an actual practical reason to implement this, other than for the sake of my OCD brain I'd like the posts I find to appear in a set order. If it's not too difficult I would hope this is a feature added in the future and I hope some of you may agree that this would be a nice little quality of life sort of thing. Thank you.

Yes, you can reorganize the order of posts in one of your sets. You just need to go to the cover page for your set and then go to the top and hit "Edit Posts". You'll get a list of post IDs you can rearrange. It's not easy to do so since there are no thumbnails to drag around and you have to reference each number to know which number is which post. That won't be a simple task if you've got hundreds or thousands of posts, of course. Not only that, but the reorganization only shows up when you tab through the posts themselves rather than on the Posts-in-Set page, so obviously, some programmer work would be helpful whenever they can get around to it, but at least some reorganization is possible.

Thanks for the feedback. That isn't quite what I want to do, and even it if was Im afraid the methods to do so are somewhat beyond my capabilities lol. And I really would like to see them organized on the post-in-set page in addition to tabbing through them. Perhaps Im just being unreasonable, but for my own sanity I'd really like to organize my sets in that way. Regardless, thanks for the help :)

If you go to a Pool's post list, you get the URL /pools/14419 which shows the posts in the order they're on the list. When you try to to this with sets though, you wind up on the posts page. Either having /post_sets/28006 show the posts in order, or something like /sets/28006 which worked the same as trying to view the pool's list would be handy. In that particular set example, the first post is 2756640 but you'll notice that the set lets you jump back or forward.
