Topic: How can you tell cub on feral, esp dinosaur art?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Looking at some The Land Before Time stuff and realizing that it's a little hard to tell with some things, and wondering if some more deserve the tag or some less.

Technically, the characters Littlefoot and Cera are cubs, but is there anything actually found in these images that would suggest so? We can't really say "Oh a Sauropod should be far larger than a Ceratopsian" because things can be portrayed in different sizes; just see Micro on Macro.

In a case like this, Chomper's head is massive compared to his body, which certainly makes him look young, but Littlefoot and Cera's heads look more appropriately sized.

I'd go off comparative morphology, honestly. The adult dinosaurs in that franchise are typically portrayed as having much more (but not exactly) accurate propotions. Case-by-case basis, might also need a lore tag for characters that are underage but don't look it/can't tell if they are/other pain in the ass things like that.

I'd be down for an underaged_(lore) tag.
