Topic: Coloured sheaths [BUR]

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #995 is pending approval.

create implication rainbow_sheath (1) -> multicolored_sheath (10)
create implication two_tone_sheath (15) -> multicolored_sheath (10)
create implication dark_sheath (39) -> sheath (86603)
create implication darkened_sheath (226) -> sheath (86603)
create implication darkened_sheath (226) -> darkened_genitalia (7672)
create implication light_sheath (78) -> sheath (86603)
create implication lightened_sheath (1) -> sheath (86603)
create implication lightened_sheath (1) -> lightened_genitalia (14)
create implication striped_sheath (2) -> stripes (166661)
create implication spotted_sheath (4) -> spots (90026)

Reason: Noticed that all colour *_sheath tags don't imply sheath.

Most of these look good, but there are some edits that could be made.

Good points. Edited the BUR with the following changes:

imply rainbow_sheath -> multicolored_sheath
imply two_tone_sheath -> multicolored_sheath
imply striped_sheath -> stripes
imply spotted_sheath -> sheath
imply spotted_sheath -> spots

Didn't add the alias since I see dark_sheath/light_sheath as tags used for dark/light coloured sheaths in general regardless of surrounding fur/scales, and darkened_sheath/lightened_sheath used for when the colour of the sheath differs from the fur/scales around it/rest of the body. Though I partly agree that in most cases of darkened_sheath, dark_sheath should be tagged as well (and probably the same for lightened_sheath and light_sheath), even though they are not technically the same thing.

However, a hypothetical example that I thought of where darkened_sheath and light_sheath would be tagged together is this: white_fur with a really light blue_sheath (pastel-ish), thus the sheath is darker than the fur around it but still a light coloured sheath. Or maybe I'm reading too much into this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'll add some description to the wiki pages to clarify the differences.

On editing the wiki I noticed the tags darkened_genitalia and lightened_genitalia. So I added some extra implications to the BUR.

imply darkened_sheath -> darkened_genitalia
imply lightened_sheath -> lightened_genitalia

topic #32377 is another BUR trying to fix the Sheath color implications. I think that if we want them approved, we would need to exclude the "darkened/lightened genitalia" discussion and move it to a separate discussion, or approve the shorter BUR that would rectify the color situation first.
Personally, I don't like the use of tags like Dark_genitalia or Dark_clothing at all, because to classify something as "dark" you have to compare it to the rest of the image or have a very large grey area of what is "dark [color]" and what is "light [color]". It can also be ambiguous whether the darkness is because of the body actually being darker than the rest, or if it's because of shadows (See: The Dress That Broke The Internet). Furthermore, it kind of retreads on the "light_blue" color discussion that we've already aliased away.
