Reason: I can't see one post with an actual bandage instead of a band-aid
alias bandage_on_nose -> band-aid_on_nose

For the sake of having everything as singular version
alias bandaged_feet -> bandaged_foot
alias bandaged_eyes -> bandaged_eye
alias bandaged_knees -> bandaged_knee

I am not sure about this
Most of them are band-aids. We could either clean it up and change the band-aid posts to band-aid_on_face, and alias bandage_on_face -> bandaged_face
Or we do it the lazy way and just alias bandage_on_face -> band-aid_on_face and change the posts with actual bandages to bandaged_face. But I think this alias could be confusing.

EDIT: The bulk update request #959 (forum #311072) has failed: Error: band-aid_on_pussy already implies band-aid through another implication (create implication band-aid_on_pussy -> band-aid)

EDIT: The bulk update request #959 (forum #311072) has been approved by @Rainbow_Dash.

I would rather have the band-aid_on tags aliased to bandaged or bandage_on tags. Band-aid itself is a specific brand that very rarely is actually visibly present on tagged images. Maybe an intermediary tag like plastic_adhesive.
Band-aid should only be present as its own isolated copyright tag.

I certainly don't call any old tissues Kleenex, Velcro would have been a better comparison, as everybody calls hook and loop Velcro.

Because people confuse "Band-aid" as being the term for any old plastic adhesive, those tags should be aliased. It's wrong, but it's consistently being used that way. Alias it to the right thing and nobody suffers.

Hmm. Interesting. I use bandage for those long rolled up fabrics. And we learned in school that the small sticky thinks with felt in the middle are band-aids. And I wouldn't want to call them plastic adhesive, because thats not plastic

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd call band-aids plastic. They're adhesive, meaning they stick to the area they're placed on by themselves, without needing to be tied, pinned, or taped down like with non-adhesive bandages. A band-aid would be a type of bandage, but not all bandages are band-aids. I also wouldn't use band-aid as a "copyright"/brand, since as noted above, it's been well enough genericized to mean any adhesive bandage.

Adhesive_strip

, adhesive_bandage, bandage_strip, there are a few different things you could use without getting into unnecessarily long tags.
If you use bandage_strip you can also have bandage_wrap to cover the wraparound kind.

That all said, will you be able to tell that it's fabric adhesive or plastic adhesive in art? Even in images like post #2708196 where the bandage is displayed quite largely, you can't really tell. An artist would have to put in the detail and then it'd just be silly.

I think bandage strip if it means adhesive bandage would be a nice alternative to band-aid. I think that some of the posts under bandage on nose are generic bandage strips and not necessarily the identifiable band-aid brand versions. If it looks like a piece of tape, it is not a band-aid IMO. Band-aids have the pad in the middle and the adhesive on both sides.

I don't want to let this get in the way of this BUR. You could not easily make such a change in a single BUR, and the BUR seems okay.

Swapping out the tag and this BUR itself get in each other's way. If this BUR got approved, all those implications would need to be removed to alias the tags to the new one.

yeah. I see the problem there. I'd go through the bandage tags and swap them out with bandage_strip and bandage_wrap, but... I guess this would be tag violation, without asking an admin first. And it would take way to long with the hourly limit of 150 tags. + we don't know if this would be accepted by other users.

Three things: imply band-aid_on_knee -> band-aiNd_on_leg has an extra N, imply band-aid_in_hand -> band-aid should be on_hand, and there should be an alias from band-aids to band-aid.

bandage_strip should probably also implicate bandage with that BUR, as band-aid currently does.

Good point, threw that on. I was thinking of leaving it for wraps, but if band-aid implies it then bandage strips can too.

I think bandage wraps/bandage wrap for cloth bandages are more natural terms than "bandage strip", not all adhesive bandages are strips either, I know I've seen some square shaped bandages on faces. "Strip" might also still get people tagging "strips" of cloth bandages as "bandage strips", people seem to intuitively understand the difference between a "bandaged" body part, and a "bandage on" a body part. Either way band-aid should be aliased to bandage, it's a brand name, not the bandage itself.
