Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: prep_and_landing -> prep_&_landing

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #51417 prep_and_landing -> prep_&_landing has been rejected.

Reason: That's how it's stylized: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prep_%26_Landing_(series)#
prep_&_landing

Character tags have "_(p&l)".

EDIT: The tag alias prep_and_landing -> prep_&_landing (forum #309126) has been rejected by @bitWolfy.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1642 (forum #) has been approved by @bitWolfy.

Aren't we trying to get rid of the ampersand, as well as other special symbols, from all tags?

Yea. If this is still a problem then we should probably reverse the alias, otherwise +1 since it's the correct format.

I have been replacing "invalid" tags (tags containing Unicode characters and/or special characters and/or uppercase characters) for a while, including those with &.

They are considered invalid because they have the potential to cause bugs. For example, searching the Changes page for additions or removals of a tag containing an ampersand will return an inaccurate number of changes.

Based on Kira's reply to topic #26262, I am currently going through the list of tags with ampersands to replace them. The character tags with the suffix *_(p&l) will also be replaced eventually.

I have also changed a&h_club to ah_club after discussing it in Discord, for example. If anyone would like to offer suggestions regarding the replacement of an invalid tag, please DM me.

The blacklist issue is still happening, by the way.
