Unless it's portraying an actual character, I don't think specific models are tagged.
Yeah, if you want to categorize them without it being a character, then use a set.

We do already have tags like lizard_(petruz), shark_(warfaremachine) and slug_(wattchewant). I'm fine with them personally, it helps with searching.
