I suggest pulling be unaliased and all three of these tags be aliased to the disambiguation page I created nearly a year ago.

Mug should be unaliased from cup, and become its own subcategory. A mug is defined as a cylindrical cup with a handle. It tends to be distinctive from other types of cups, which may not have handles. Not all coffee cups may be mugs, so if this alias is going to happen we should tag all of the mug style coffee cups as mug as well.

I would like to get some more feedback from folks on how the cup implication tree should be formatted before I make edits (particularly on the difference between a stein and a tankard, since I'm unsure of the difference between them). I did some research and beer_stein and stein refer to the same thing at least in real life terminology. A stein is a type of beer mug. The beer glass alias should be removed, because not all beer glasswear fall under the definition of a stein. You are both implying and aliasing the stein terms in the same BUR.

• Yes, martini_glass and cocktail_glass could probably be aliased; in the wikipedia page of the cocktail glass, there is the phrase: "The term cocktail glass is often used interchangeably with martini glass, despite their differing slightly.", at the beginning; the difference is then explained below, but I think 99% of the people don't know the difference, so I think an alias could work even if they aren't synonyms.

For the case of chalice/goblet the wiki consider them as synonyms, so one of them should be aliased to the other.

If you're just talking about any cup made out of plastic, then there's plenty of those that are not disposable, of different types. Although I get the feeling that most people probably think of the disposable kind often used at parties and gatherings and such. In which case, if that's all the tag's ever used for, I don't see harm in aliasing/implicating it to disposable_cup.

• I had considered the possibility of a plastic_cup that was also a non-disposable_cup, however all of the posts that are currently tagged with plastic_cup seem to be disposable_cups.
• For the tea_cup description as "a cup filled with tea", I think a better way to search for that would be to search tea + whatever cup tag variation someone is looking for (cup, tea_cup, mug, drinking_glass, etc). That way folks can search for any kind of cup that contains tea, without being restricted to only utilize the teacup/tea_cup variation of cups and without the potential confusion that could arise from keeping teacup/tea_cup separate tags with different definitions.

I made a bunch of edits to the BUR based on the implication tree that was discussed. Several other aliases/implications will also need to be submitted in a subsequent BUR (particularly for tags that will eventually be implicated to mug).
