Thank you for writing this, I just read your answer and was going to request a BUR now. Could you read the answer that I left for you at the other thread and help me decide if it's a good idea?

Though not very populated, there is a tag for raised_hackles.

For a tail, maybe you're looking for erect_tail (or for tail_boner, a variant of erect_tail that is frequently associated with arousal)?

I actually created that tag today after reading the previous answer, but thanks anyway.

I've been tagging some posts with erect_tail and frizzy_tail as well. I didn't know about tail_boner, I'll check it out.

Edit: I believe erect_tail should be aliased to tail_boner, since the latter has more posts and a more detailed wiki, and according to the description they mean the same thing. frizzy_tail should be aliased to raised_hackles as well, since it is more in line with e621 nomenclature and both terms are largely equivalent.

Sorting out frizzy_*, disheveled_* and unkempt_* tags might be worth looking into as well.

messy_fur and messy_tail might overlap partially with the above.

Updated

Sure thing! I was going to imply tail_boner -> erect_tail in this BUR, but figured it would be better to have this implication on it's own forum post. But considering how similar both tags are, it might be better to alias one of these tags to the other.

I'll make a new forum topic so folks can discuss what to do about the erect_tail and tail_boner tags (and maybe add raised_tail to that discussion as well).

So you would prefer to focus on fur at the moment? What are your thoughts on

?

For the record, I don't believe raised_tail should be implied by the other tail tags, since you can have a horizontal tail_boner.

I didn't see that stuff regarding frizzy_*, disheveled_*, and unkempt_* tags. Personally, those do seem like tags that should be aliased to their messy_* tag equivalent.

It might take me some time to make the BUR (to cover all possible variations), but I can make a BUR for aliasing all of those tags to the messy_* tags.

Some of the posts that are tagged frizzy_* would probably fit better under raised_hackles, though.

Also alias hackles_raised -> raised_hackles and other variants with "inverse" order might be useful as well.

Is there a colloquial name for raised hackles, something that could be aliased to it as a shortcut? I swear I'm never going to remember that term.
