Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: mega_charizard -> charizard

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #33730 mega_charizard -> charizard has been rejected.

Reason: Honestly I think all mega evolution Pokemon should implicate their normal forms, since many of them can look very similar to their base form.

EDIT: The tag implication mega_charizard -> charizard (forum #295517) has been rejected by @Millcore.

Same can be said for certain evolutions. Charmander is probably about as similar to Charmeleon as Charizard is to Mega Charizard Y (to say nothing of Mega Charizard X). Or Luxio to Luxray vs Blaziken to Mega Blaziken.

While I agree with the previous posters saying this would worsen searchability, I do think there needs to be some sort of tag that encompasses all forms of charizard (and the other pokémon with mega/regional/gigantamax variations) since searching *charizard* matches multiple artist and character tags too.

I posted this in a thread about Alolan Meowth, but the principle is the same here. This implication would worsen searchability, rather than improve it.

Neat, I didn't know that search feature existed.

I agree. Maybe searching something like "Charizard_(all)" or something along those lines could work. That way, people who only want to search for regular Charizard can do that, and people who are looking for any Charizard can also search.

There is a 40 term search limit available, use ~ for searches like this instead of making a new tag. ~charizard ~mega_charizard ~gigantamax_charizard
