Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: text_on_body -> body_writing

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Suggest tag cleanup and wiki check, differentiate between markings and writings.

Suggest creation of new tag called text_marking for posts which feature natural text markings on characters, while maintaining body_writing for posts featuring "sharpie writings" on body.

So for example, with text_marking it would include tattoos such as in post #2079568, correct? Whereas body_writing would be exclusively for cases where it was obvious that the writing was not there originally, such as in post #2288511.

If that's the case then instead of my alias suggestion, would it be a good idea to instead to make text_on_body a "parent tag" which is implicated whenever someone would use text_marking or body_writing? That way if someone wants to see text on the body regardless if it's a tattoo or sharpied, they would only require one tag.

Implications if so:
text_marking -> text_on_body
body_writing -> text_on_body

One further thing to keep in mind is whether or not tally_marks would count as "text". Right now, tally_marks doesn't implicate body_writing, but I'm not sure if people usually add both tags when tallies are used.

Yeah, that’s the gist of it.

I would say avoid using text_on_body altogether because the naming of it makes it a vague tag and would promote lazy tagging instead of specific ones, but then again a lot of our umbrella tags are vague.
I wouldn’t be opposed to having it as an umbrella tag, but I would prefer a disambiguation. So, I’m 50/50 on this one.
Also implicate text_marking —> markings.

Keep tally_marks separate, they are also used on walls and other surfaces.

There are other cases where no "text writing" is involved, such as post #111042 & post #1547569, but I would say keep them all under body_writing for the sake of inclusivity.

And now that I think about it, the above examples don’t allow for the body_writing —> text_on_body implication, unless there is to be a body_drawing tag.
