Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: swimmer -> swimming

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #46985 swimmer -> swimming has been rejected.

Reason: "swimmer" does not carry any additional information compared to "swimming". If there is swimming, there must be a swimmer. If there is a swimmer, they are swimming (and if the character is not swimming, they can't be called a swimmer).

Also: swimmers -> swimming

EDIT: The tag alias swimmer -> swimming (forum #294853) has been rejected by @Millcore.

For "swimmer -swimming" posts, I think most of those should just be tagged swimwear instead. Just because they are dressed in swimwear doesn't mean they are a swimmer, and if they aren't swimming then we can't say they are swimmers by TWYS.

Any thought on the posts currently tagged with swimmer -swimming? If they look like a swimmer, is that enough to tag them (similar to, say, nurse)?

Agreed, swimmer should probably only apply to characters wearing specialized suits for low drag, or otherwise evident that they are a professional/competitive swimmer (like post #711641). Although that only leaves 13 swimmers and that's being generous about speedos.
