Reverse it for the same reason we call a cock a penis and not a slang term.

There is a reason why the pussy -> vulva change is not happening. The pussy tag covers also depictions of vagina (aka the internal part). Vulva refers only to the external parts, and does not refer to vagina. We would either need to start incorrectly referring the internal parts as vulva, or we would need to dedicate thousands of hours of work to go through every single post in the pussy tag and split the tag manually into vulva and vagina tags.

If they're going to change the base tag then they should reverse the scrotum alias, since the testes themselves are not usually visible.

-1 For this. Scrotum is not necessrily present in images with testes (such as severed balls in castration art, and internal view of character with internal nuts.)
