Topic: Artist Gimmicks?

Posted under Art Talk

What do you think about certain artists having gimmicks?

Off the top of my head I can think of
68 - Rape
Rockcandy - Anal, never vaginal
ZP92/Herro - Feet
Sunnibee/oriole - wide hips

Gideon - tubecock/tubenips
TheBoogie - nightmare fuel (I've seen less of this lately)
Shadman - "slutifying"
Legoman - cuckold
Sparrow - just... Terrible things...

Got any more? I was going to add Nezumi but she does pretty much everything except men, which she either makes undetailed, chibi, POV, or shota. She has done a couple if portraits for men though, snd there's a couple of pictures of "militia men".

I've never really though about it, I find it natural that artists are going to draw what they enjoy.

Yeah, I look at it kind of like Peekaboo said. I don't see those as gimmicks, because I don't think they're done specifically to market themselves or catch people's attention (the definition of a gimmick). I figure it's just a natural trend in their art that occurs because it's what they like to draw. I think of a "gimmick" as cheap ploy used in the hopes that it will drum up more business by garnering attention, etc. It's a marketing game, a fake ploy. Not a legitimate interest being pursued for its own sake.

Whereas I think most artists just fall into a habit after awhile, and keep gravitating to the things they like drawing. Like Mot for instance, I think just finds that stuff interesting, so he returns to the flesh tunnels over and over for yet another peak into what's hidden or happening there. (And I love him for it!). Sparrow, I suspect, just has some weird kinks he's feeding through his art. And honestly, what better home for those kinds of ideas? It works out perfectly. But it is interesting to talk about the trends in various artist's art. A few I've noticed:

Mot - draws surrealist penis rabbits with some kind of absorption/merging/whatever-that's-called.
Sparrow_(artist) - does hyper-everything, bizarre stretching and abdominal bulges that go beyond extreme and hang a left at the very embodiment of "skyscraper cocks are in my vagina! And yes, there are five of them! Look at all that cum! My abdominal bulge is bigger than my torso!", and some extreme fantasy stories to go along with it.
Falvie - likes to draw ferals with neon colors.
Nezumi - likes to draw prolapsed holes (semi-prolapsed AND fully prolapsed, it does vary somewhat by degree).
sashabelle - specializes in cub-shaped fleshlights that then spend their time seducing tall, big men with big cocks.
Rukis - has fantastic detail combined with stiff poses.
jay_naylor - always draws the same body type.
redrusker - always draws the same face.
bgn - draws beefy guys with lots of body hair and no shirts.
modeseven - likes absorption/merging bizarre-sci-fi twists on all kinds of vore themes.

Don't get me wrong, I love most of these artists often for some of these exact reasons. It's just that some of those qualities are pretty distinctive too. =P I can't think of any more off the top of my head though.

I'm pretty certain that dude is 100% male.

I would put Nezumi under gape before prolapse. People tend to mix the two up. And I thought Sparrow was a guy?

Itameshi and Dagasi seem to love Eevee and its evolutions, with Itameshi primarily focused on Sylveon and Dagasi primarily focused on Eevee.

Itameshi, Dagasi, Psy101, and Backlash91 all love focusing on ferals and Dagasi and Backlash91 actually draw human males with them when it comes to bestiality.

In fact, they seldom draw human females at all, and all of Dagasi's have been lolis, where every male has been faceless.

I actually like it when an artist I like has a fetish of mine, even if it means that I'll probably never see an image with a different fetish I have unless I commission it, assuming the artist is even willing to draw it in the first place and take commissions.

Currently, I've been seeking out artists that specifically focus on obese, but not morbidly obese (or at least so fat that they're blobbish), preferably, but not limited to, furry characters. I've actually had far more success finding males than females or intersexes, especially from Japanese artists, not including creepy fat old rapists typically used for humiliation purposes in porn involving human females.

Well, not never: post #430118

I have a wonderful chubby artist to show you! I'll link you to their pixiv when I get home.

Mate, Nezumi draws so much prolapse that his tag should be implicated to the prolapse tag.

Fixed. I was just guessing on gender.

Some are only semi-prolapsed, while others are fully prolapsed. And then there's a few that are simply puffy. It's all a matter of degree. Gaping refers to the gap or empty space in the middle, not how much of it is protruding. They're measuring different things.

Prolapse is when the inside is pulled past the outer layer. Out of the pages of Nezimi's work here, which is still missing quite a bit, there is less than a page of prolapse.

Here you go.

This guy has human and furry work, mostly chubby and tasteful. Not incredibly lewd.

For more "out there" artists I can refer you to Yokkora, but they have little to no furry content. And you probably know about Goto Beido.

Nice! Thank you. It's difficult to find these types of artists. Not only do a good portion prefer morbidly obese characters, but most people find fat disgusting, so art isn't shared as often. Luckily, they tend to follow the works of other artists with the same fetishes, themselves.

No prob!

crystal-for-ever - technicolor sparkledog characters with sameface and suction-cup nipples. (One with cum, one without...no exceptions).
jay_naylor - sandworms and incest.
miu - cute, quirky, humorous banter between characters.
zero-sum - watercolor-esque images with either gradient or really abstract backgrounds.
applebeans - full of nope.

sif - shiny, almost rubber-like texture bodies
ymbk - big titties, thick bodies
palcomix - constant misspellings and bad grammar

Not hating on them, just pointing out some common themes with their stuff

fasttrack37d-Big cocks, not as big as Gideon, but you know, the sorts.
thewielder He does an awesome work at muscles and expresions, but well, he has a thing for angry-pain-rage ones, but again, he HAS a good skill at them, Oh and bondage. I like his style.
wfa Bulky males with a tendency for loads of cum.
meesh and his porn logic comics.
blotch team and their rather realistic genitalia.
