Topic: So... Hello Kitty is not a Cat

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The artist seems like a dumb person who is blindly refusing to admit he's a furry.

"Hello Kitty is not a cat. She's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it's called Charmmy Kitty."

She is an anthropomorphic cat.

TWYS, and she looks like a cat.

Or maybe she's a catropomorphic human?

Hello kitty is a little girl wearing a fursuit.

To be perfectly honest, I keep thinking something got lost in translation. Like the creator misunderstood her saying it was a cat because his grasp on english is basic and he thought "cat" always has to mean 100% feral. Or maybe his explanation got mistranslated and oversimplified into "she's not a cat" when what he said/meant was "she's not a feral cat". The whole thing just seems like a minor linguistic misunderstanding (probably duo to two different languages): whether the word "cat" only means the 100% feral domestic kitty, or if the word "cat" means anything that is sufficiently cat-like even if not taxonomically being an actual 'Felis catus'. In a loose sense, they were both right. But all these major news outlets jumping on this for the sensational value...does not improve my opinion of their non-journalistic bad habits these days.

Well, some research told me that Hello Kitty is a third-grader living in London with her real name as Kitty White, or as the creator said.

But to the public's opinion and popular culture, Hello Kitty still remains a "cat" in their minds, even some people still don't know that she's a human.

In addition, she has kitty ears, nose and whiskers, and you tell me she ain't a cat!?

Maybe we need to alias "Hello_Kitty" to "Confusing_bullshit"

So...Could Hello Kitty be a Betelgeusian?

We're a few questions away from dividing by zero here.

It seems to be one of the hottest news around the internet:

Ready to retag all the Hello Kitty posts with human and remove cat in most of them?

Just kiddiing. I don't think is a good idea.

Japan.
