thighs is a terrible tag

Agreed. I'd rather get rid of thighs. To date, I have never seen an instance where it added anything to the picture to have it tagged as having thighs present. It seems to be a filler tag. Thighs are expected. you can't have legs without thighs. But if thighs are missing, then so are the legs and you've got amputee. Still no reason for a separate thighs tag. When there's something notable about the thighs, we already tag that so: thick_thighs, thigh_sex, thigh_gap etc etc.

But tagging thighs is sort of like tagging when something has a elbow. It's a connective body part that probably isn't that useful to tag on everything unless 1, it can sometimes be missing and that is remarkable (in this case that's already handled with other tags like amputee) or 2, there's something else unusual about that body part (but in this case that's also already being handled by other tags like thick_thighs). So I really see no use for the thighs tag. And I admit, it kind of annoys me to see a tag in such wide use that seems to have no actual purpose to being in use. But maybe I'm missing why people are using it. Do people actually use thighs in their searches? (honest question)

Get rid of it. Useless tag.

You mean thighs, yeah? Because thick_thighs is descriptive and legitimately useful.
Also, Furrypickle summed the whole thing up quite well (as per usual :P), nothing I can add to that. Keep thick_thighs, alias thighs to invalid_tag.

And while we're busy anyway, we should alias some stuff to thick_thighs, like big_thighs. That fucker is tagged to 700 posts and is entirely interchangeable in content.

Yes, that. It's the same reason we do not spare tags like knee, leg, face, nose etc.
