Implicating guitar saxophone piano lyre cello tambourine sousaphone flute trumpet violin drums trombone -> musical_instrument

Reason: Their all classed musical instruments even tho they are classified as different types aka percussion, wind, electronic and keyboard instruments. Not sure about this, but it would put all listed instruments under one classification or would it be better to make the different classified types then have them implement musical instrument?

Most of these look like there won't be any other coflicts, but what about:

Suggestions-

bass_guitar (post #258833) -> guitar
electric_guitar (post #222711) -> guitar
acoustic_guitar (post #241493) -> guitar

guitar -> musical_instrument

I get the guitar thing, but is a whistle a musical instrument? Another one to add harmonica. clarinet could do like the guitar and and be clarinet implies flute.

Never heard of it before, but maybe it can be considered one in a more modern context

I'll leave it up to everyone

Another one to add harmonica.

OK, done

clarinet could do like the guitar and and be clarinet implies flute.

A clarinet is not a flute though, unless you were referring to instrument categories

No, a clarinet may be in the same family as a flute (woodwinds) but it is never, under any circumstance, a flute.

and on the subject of modern context, wouldn't certain equipment such as turntables and whatever modern dj's use be musical instruments.
I've seen 2 turntables and a microphone before that could be easily classified as instruments.

hmmm ok there is a mac keyboard... So you wanted to generalize all keyboards to computers. But wouldn't pc in-compose most things computer related? yes I know mac like to do there on thing.

Thank you! Did the rest that were remaining

What do you all think about computer_keyboard for the hardware, and musical_keyboard as the instrument?

And maybe aliasing keyboard to invalid_tag

That would be cool since their is already computer_mouse tag and would mean the same thing. But the musical keyboard. Would be more a like a electronic keyboard or digital keyboard? But which ever, I'm ok with it.

Don't forget the most beautiful sounding instrument of them all

I think that's one of the most difficult instruments to play

Uh oh, I think I found a tiny issue, banjo is both a character and a musical instrument, what do?
