+1 for the main suggestion. They really are.

+1 for the related suggestions. Accuracy and standardization are enough reasons.

I suggest impling 'aviator_gogglesgoggles' as well. It currently isn't very tagged but would cost nothing to imply it too.

Googles?

I'm not sure what we should do with diving_mask which serves the same purpose as swimming goggles but aren't really goggles.

I also thought about that, probably we should imply it to 'visor'.

visor needs a bit of cleanup, though.

forum #220511

I see... Before cleaning it some changes need to be made, more specifically, creating separate tags for each type of visor. This way not only visor caps, helmet visors and eyewear visors would end up properly sorted, but some implications cloud eventually be made.

I thought of some possibilities:
  • 'visor' to the simple eyewear, maybe 'visor_(eyewear)' if more specification is needed.
  • 'monocle_visor' to the one for a single eye (mono = one, oculus = eye)
  • 'helmet_visor' to the helmet visor; the type would vary according the type of helmet so, as long as it be specified, a single tag would suffice.

What do you think?

p.s. Sorry for didn't have answered you at that forum, I really don't noticed your statement.

  • I'm thinking about whether or not visor should be disambiguated.
  • monocle_visor sounds fine, effectively the visor equivalent of monocle.
  • With helmet_visor, not all helmet types have specific terms yet so visor type (screen or grate) might work better.

You don't need to apologise. The majority of the posts in that thread don't have responses so it's no surprise that that one didn't get one.
