Topic: Question about a certain scenario of an image and a artist

Posted under Art Talk

Hello people of the International Interweb!

Basically got a bit of a weird scenario here, one of my friends knows about this site and knows of my profile on here.
Long story short, they are thinking about posting their images here - however, his images are of a 'questionable nature', basically containing extreme fetishes of scat, cub and other such - the more generally not-accepted types.

Although he wants to post them here, he told me that if the general response would be negative - which I think may likely happen due to the involved fetishes - he would want them taken down - (just very self conscious about the work and such, doesn't take judgement well.)

If I were to post the images, and it turns out negative and he wants me to remove them, how would I do that?
Non of the 'Flag for deletion' options fit that scenario, and I cant submit a takedown form, neither as I'm not the artist, the form doesn't cover a thing like this. ANd that the form states 'This form is for use ONLY by people who have a legitimate copyright/trademark infringement claim.' which would not be the case. Plus, I'm a bit personnaly worried that if that form is filed, I'll get flagged with a copyright infringement or something legally annoying.
And my friend doesn't have a gallery or can prove they're his, as he hasn't posted this art anywhere else, so that's a problem upon itself as well

This can easily be solved if he created an account himself, yet - for some reason I cant fathom - he wont create one. He wants his images up, but doesn't want to be *linked* with this site, its weird but he just wont do it.

If I don't make sense or need to clarify something, please ask. But I'd really like advice before I upload some of his stuff, just to avoid a mess in the future

I think you should be fine with uploading them, so long as the posts are tagged correctly. Make sure you tag all fetishes relevant to the image, if users dislike such content then they should have blacklisted the tags and they won't see the posts anyway.

If people refuse to use the blacklist and continue to make negative comments, you can report them. By reporting them you can get them banned, and you may also be able to 'hide' their comments from public view.

Even if I do tag them correctly, well, I've still seen posts of extreme fetishes properly tagged still get negative reviews. Plus how some people just downvote and move on, and my friend would still just view that negativity.
You said that I may be able to hide their comments from public view, how would I do that? I've posted uploads before, but that option isn't that on any comment other than my own
Or is that just a result if I were to report the comments?

If they can't handle negative criticism of their artwork, posting it might not be such a good idea. Judgment goes both ways, you gotta take the bad with the good.

Of course, hateful comments is frowned upon and should be reported but at the same time, you shouldn't let legitimate criticism or a few downvotes discourage you, especially if the content is known to turn people off.

Personnaly, I can tell the difference between internet hate, general disapproval or criticism.
Yet my friend just views it all as negative, a mixture of perfectionism and just general self-paranoid and self esteem.
Yet, he is the one who is pushing himself to do this, so I don't want to discourage him
And anyways, I'm more concerned about if he asks me to remove them. And how I can do that (see main topic above)

I'm not exactly sure, I think you should talk to the staff to find out.

You could also ask one of the staff members to keep an eye on the posts, to make doubly sure that commenters stay in line.

Though I'm fairly sure the site learns more towards the side of free speech, rather than censorship. So only report comments that actually break the rules, such as harassing behaviour or refusing to blacklist. Reporting polite criticism could get you into trouble.

You pretty much can't. :/
Only artists can submit takedowns, so he'd have to do it himself.

I doubt the staff are going to start offering special treatment.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was worrying about and expecting :/

I'll run this by him but he was stubborn before, but I'll see if I can make him get his own account

As far as I know, takedowns don't require an account.
https://e621.net/takedown/new can be accessed by guests. And as the page says, it can also be handled through email.

He will have to submit a takedown. Account is not required, only a valid email address. Accounts on other sites like FA, DA, etc, are helpful, though.
