Topic: Is it worth keeping "cub" around?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

According to the wikis, cub young, the only thing differentiating cub from young is the fact that it isn't applied to humans. Is that really enough to keep the tag around, given the site's focus?

some people might not want to see young humans/humanoids but like cubs or other way around. the cub tag allows to find or blacklist precisely what the user wants to (like blacklisting young -cub allows to hide non furry young characters)

A cub is a baby furry and should be tagged as such on any image where it applies.

Not a baby, a child/baby.

Just keep in mind that cub is also generally considered inherently sexual, but young is more neutral.

In addition to what others have said, you also have to remember that images containing nothing but humanoids are allowed even if the only thing setting them apart from humans is their pointy ears. Posts containing humans are allowed just so long as there's a nonhuman being in it, for the most part at least. I think even some posts of lone humans just wearing fake ears and tails have been accepted.

Because of that, there exist tags to distinguish them from furries, including this one.

Uhh, no there isn't? Young can still be preteen, whereas cub is child at most. There's no such tag for humanoids/humans.

Loli and shota are the 'sexualized underage' tags; both apply to all character types, as far as I know.
