Topic: Tag Implication: mega_absol -> absol

Implicating mega_absol → absol
Link to implication

Reason:

mega Absol is just a variant, a sub-species if you will, of Absol. So I figured that it would be easier if all posts that have the Mega_Absol tag also get the absol tag. Honestly, if it isn't already the case, this should probably be done for all mega-evolutions. If only so that a person can search for the normal tag, in this case absol, and then posts with the Mega_Absol tag that don't have the Absol tag will also show up. Similar to how you can search Wolf specifically or you can search Canine and get posts that have the tag Wolf.

Just as a Charizard is not a Charmander, a Mega Charizard is not a Charizard. We don't do Mega implications to their normal forms, just Mega -> mega_evolution.

Just a tip, if you want to search for Absol and Mega Absol at the same time, using only one search term, it's possible if you search for *absol.

It's for this reason that I think the way we have things, regarding mega evolutions, is pretty fine.

About three weeks ago, I actually did a massive tag clean up regarding Mega Pokémon to their original counterparts after learning about it through this forum post. I'll probably go back at a later date to keep those particular tags up to those standards.

Yeah, using an "*" allows you to search for both the original and the Mega Evolutions of Pokémon, and it only takes one tag instead of two.

Denied. We treat them as different species for the purposes of tagging.
