Topic: Unauthorized edit, but still on site?

Posted under General

I have a question regarding edits. Are unauthorized edits automatically taken down and/or unapproved when spotted? Or, does there have to a specific complaint from the original artist before an image is taken down?

Generally specific complaint from the original artist before an image is taken down.

What furballs said, as long as it doesn't violate site rules is it perfectly fine until the original artist says otherwise.

The artist needs to be properly credited however.

This is the important bit. Otherwise it's art theft.

If OP takes credit for it.

Thank you all for clarifying :) I was curious because I think one of my older uploads wasn't approved just because it was an edit, and I'm pretty sure the artist didn't have time to contact anyone about it beforehand. I considered the possibility that that certain artist had a kind of "standing rule" to take down any edits of his/her work.
