Does anyone ever feel like they drive around in a ghost town at times? This morning on my way to work, it was no traffic, pitch black, and got so foggy that I could only see some of the road, my headlights, and the occasional streetlights. Felt like I was in a horror movie film, especially with all the fog and it being basically impossible to see past the lights. All that was needed was some unsettling music and some jumpscare like a random animal appearing on the road.

It does feel like that after work sometimes except instead of driving i walk to and from work

man, so... I just want to appreciate the kind of community/culture that that's been cultivated here (and, to some extent, the wider furry community) at thos point in time. it's easy to take for granted the type and the quality of engagement we get in comments on posts and around the site, when you going elsewhere and so much of discussion online is just streams of noisey, memey, rude, thoughtless nonsense that drowns out and/or kills attemps at normal conversation.

Ah, probably just a reference to something. Also there are people who don't realize they can be anonymous around the internet or don't care about mentioning others in full name, so I just took it as I saw it, as that could be the case.

Harry Mason is the protagonist of the 1999 PlayStation horror game Silent Hill, one of the first fully 3D survival horror games ever made. the opening seconds of the game sees Harry awakening in his crashed his car on the mountain road leading to the titular town. the game intentionally had an extremely low render distance with an oppressively thick fog to enhance the atmosphere, something that would be featured in almost all future titles

just as a note, if someone reveals a person's full name in a random anecdote on the internet it's probably because they're talking about a fictional character.

this happened to my pal harry mason

Did anything he say about his experience seem as bad as or worse than mine? Big issue for me was the roads were foggy and had a hard time with getting a good visual for if I'm on/off my lane and using the higher brightness for my headlights made things worse.

15lbs is a lot, that's like 5x the heaviest blanket I own, and I don't even like using that thing most of the time. my entire clothes hamper, witha full load of clothes is 15 pounds.

I'm just saying, if I wake up in the middle of the night and there's anything that even slightly restrics my ability to crack every joint in my upper back and neck and the knuckles of all of my digits I will die.

I never got weighted blankets. the last thing I'd ever want is something weighing down my entire body, restricting my movement while I'm laying prone, trying to sleep; shit gives me panic attacks.

Seconded. I do not even use my sleeping bags as 'bags' anymore, but rather as a nicely insulated blanket; having my feet tangled up in a sleeping bag is a surefire way to wake me up, by freaking me out :\

@decra: it needs to be attached to some external game, yeah, but I honestly don't see why it needs to specifically be a Sonic game. without any external game all you'd really have is glorified versions of the Tiny Chao Garden games for the VMU and GBA, which are both not very good or stuff like Duck Life or Chao Resort Island which are kinda alright but have really flat progression curves.

the chao garden only works because it's a hyper-expanded Tamagotchi experience that functions as an external side-progression system attached to another game. but, really you could attach that to any game. you just need a satisfying way for a player to grind rings and small animals/chaos drives, and there are definitely ways you could do that without just collecting them in a stage like in Adventure 1/2. and, if they had this Chao Garden detached from any one game you could do stuff like give special cosmetic unlocks for new SEGA games you play, or really any media; movies, comics, whatever.

that and the hope that they'll eventually realize the absolute _potential_ of chao. could you imagine how cool a long-running chao companion app for SEGA games/media would be? it's money on the table, dude.

few people realise that a chao garden game wouldn't work without it being connected to a sonic game like how it is and i'm not going to say more because i have to sleep (a.k.a. being responsible).

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS – Story Trailer – Nintendo Switch

Time Eater returns, as does Mephiles.

also, Gerald Robotnik's Journal Infomercial

just having a lore document included as a feelie with the physical edition is pretty cool. it's taken way too long for SEGA to realize just how much of their audience is lore hounds hogs who will eat stuff like this and TailsTube up.

honestly for me, that's, like, the only reason I even care about official Sonic media. if I want good Sonic gameplay I'm not looking towards them, I'm looking towards the fangame community, official games don't even come close most of the time.

Man, I hate seeing artists suddenly nuke their own thousands of art pieces without any public reason. RIP all of squishy's art, loved seeing Tobi in my searches.

army recruiting effectively functions not much unlike an MLM. they're really just trying to grab anyone they can get; anyone dumb enough to fall for their pitch.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the case that they just look for anyone. Thanks for entertaining my question with a response.

i'm not here to say it's bad, but dude looks like he's got a huge neck and extra broad in the shoulders. it doesn't bug me personally, but i'm just hedging my bets and saying that it's bugging someone

Heh… probably then. Kinda hard to unsee it now. I’m more great drawing muscles on humans rather than furries. Though it shouldn’t be that hard. Just draw muscles… then add fur.

But it don’t bother me none really. Just trying different kinds of styles since my very first one I made hit over a hundred likes.

Thanks for your honest feedback. 🙂

Got a question. I had someone from the US army trying to recommend me to join during my job earlier today. This is the second time now I had an army recruiter bug me while I'm on the job (1st time was another store). I don't think I come across as anyone unique or special so I don't know why these guys are approaching me, so is it just them trying to recommend any average joe schmoe that seems young or strong/able bodied?

It's not so much that "AI isn’t for everyone", but that many people see AI images as a result of theft. It's not really a problem with AI generation itself (though people do have opinions on the resulting quality), but that most of the available generators are built/trained using other peoples' hard work without knowledge and/or compensation, and/or obtained permission unethically*, for the companies to get unfair advantage and commercial gain over the artist themself (imagine your work being used to train an AI, where other people then use that AI to generate images instead of commissioning or hiring the artists whose work was used; using the artists' own work to compete with them).

* Meaning burying "we can use your art for our AI training" in the TOS for widely used and relied upon software that people are forced to use. Making it technically legal, but not something people would have agreed to if they had a choice.

Huh… just noticed that my recent art I’ve made has negative 3 likes.

Is it because of the AI generated background that triggers people? I get that AI isn’t for everyone but damn… 😅

Not that wierd tbh

I dunno, just feels kinda privacy-invadey to have even found what I have done (assuming it is the same person. if it's not then I've just been digging around picking up some random dude's internet breadcrumbs). and it's not like we were really friends or something, so going out of my way to make contact is a bit, like, inappropriate.
