@vex714: no, it was a 9mm single stack 7 round mag for my m&p shield.
I took the bottom plate off and un tangled it, it seems fine now but I'll have to try it to be sure.

@Doomguy666: oh nice, if the spring is really messed up, then it's easier to find a new spring than it is to find a smaller specialty spring. More of a pain finding smaller parts. I think it'll still function fine. S&W is a good brand.
