@Heteroxon: Sounds scam-ish. I wouldn't advise spending any of it either until you have clear proof of where it came from. Scammers are clever.

@Heteroxon: Figure out where it came from and why, money laundering is still a thing and nobody accidentally sends a grand.

@TheHuskyK9: Luckily checks are thing of distant past.
@Heteroxon: then turns out that was actually mistake, bank takes money back and you are on negative. Always check these things out, sometimes bank/source will compensate this as well.
