I am a little surprised how many users used the little edit button way at the bottom of the sidebar exclusively, and were entirely unaware of the big one right under the image.
the button will be restored in the next update, until then there's the Comment|Edit mode toggles below the image/description. or you can use the hotkey.

which systems are the hotkeys meant for?
... i am ashamed by how long ive been unaware for.

As one of those users, I have to say it's quite a bit more convenient to use
