Honestly, it's not even that you're recommending a service that's the problem. It's just the way you say it that's just so blunt and blatant that it straight up looks like advertising.

Also, something like this normally wouldn't be annoying. But, you're more persuading people into joining than actually suggesting a place to hang out. In any context, that would make everything annoying.
