I then hesitantly replied just wanting to level with the brute calmly.

“Yeah man. Family comes first. Do what you gotta do.”

He then says,

“Yeah! You get it! I mean, am I wrong?!”

a couple of customers including the cashier agreed just to level with him. He then said,

“I’m just glad the cops didn’t arrive. Cuz I ain’t goin’ to jail. Don’t talk shit to my family.”

I just nodded and shrugged nervously. The cashier then rang up my drink, paid for it, and left quickly but calmly. The brute then said,

“Ey yo. You have a good night, man. God bless.”

I then replied,

“Yeah man, you too. You take care.”

I swear to high heaven, I thought there was gonna be a robbery or a bloodbath about to ensue. 😓
