"Bathroom" describes a room in a home where a shower/bath, toilet and sink are located. Some home bathrooms may only contain a bath and/or shower (with the toilet and sink in a separate room), while other home "bath"rooms will only contain a toilet and sink.

These rooms are known by various names around the world, such as toilet or water closet (Worldwide), lavatory or "loo" (UK), washroom (Canada), or restroom (USA).

"Bathroom" can also refer to a public toilet as well, despite the lack of bath.
