Fake ears describes a set of "wearable ears", which resemble those of various animals. Fake ears are most often attached to a hairband, and are frequently worn as a part of a costume - which may include other fake animal parts, such as gloves or a tail, and sometimes themed or animal print clothing. Fake ears may also be a part of other headgear, such as a hat, hood, or pair of headphones. Two of the most popular varieties of fake ears are fake cat ears and fake rabbit ears.
Important Notes:
- If there is no visible hairband or clothing that the ears are connected to, and the exact connection between the ears and head is obscured as well, use your best judgment.
- Fake ears will usually be of a different colour than the rest of the character's body, fur or scales
- "Non-furry" characters - humans, and non-animal humanoids wearing fake ears are still non-furry.
- The species of what the ears are intended to resemble should not be tagged - a post with a human wearing fake rabbit ears does not get tagged as "rabbit", and they are not a rabbit humanoid.
