It depicts a horror scenario in which an established setting experiences some kind of infection and follows the characters struggling to survive. Often features body horror, death and other grimdark things.

The infection can range from standard zombie apocalypse to more creative situations.

Often applied to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic setting, but is not exclusive to it.
