Species: hominin
Hominins are a particular tribe of great apes that includes modern humans and their extinct ancestors and related (subtripe Australopithecine) as well as chimpanzees and bonobos (subtribe Panina). Because modern humans, chimpanzees, and bonobos would positively swamp the tag, hominins are limited on the site to all archaic humans, their ancestors, and related protohumans (basically making it synonymous with subtribe Australopithecine).
